Great service all around. The rooms are a bit scuffed around the edges. Location is great. The kitchen tries harder than in most luxury hotels.
la mar...is spectacular. great food, great service, great view.
Great location! I love the jogging trail around the hotel. It's on the water and is also surrounded by magnificent tall buildings. I definitely would come back. The room was nice. The restaurant food was good. The fitness center is a little bit gloomy. The front desk service was great.
This hotel and the service provided was nothing but a dream. My girlfriend and I went for her birthday weekend and after researching this hotel to experiencing the high quality amenities in person, I left impressed. This place pays attention to so many details to make sure people are taken care of - from excellent valet to being helped by the pool area, the service was refreshing. Not to mention the restaurant and bar inside the hotel were completely unique and high quality experiences.
Prior to staying, I looked into reviews for Mandarin Oriental Miami. There were obviously great reviews, but I noticed some people stating the service isn’t up to par. I could not disagree more after staying in this hotel. The service was outstanding. Overall, my stay here was really great!Pros of Mandarin Oriental Miami:-Service was outstanding!- Location is beautiful and quiet. Quick walk away from great restaurants.- The hotels restaurant, La Mar, is amazing and a top place to eat in Miami.- Rooms are great, though slightly outdated.-Pool is nice and relaxing, right near the water.- Gym has great equipment, including Peletons. Would enjoy more equipment however.Cons:- Food is pricey for in room dining, pool bar dining, breakfast, etc. I do not mind high prices, however the quality of the food needs to match the price. It does not.Overall, would highly recommend this hotel whenever in Miami. I will definitely be staying here again.
Stayed in MO, Miami in April. Great location and bay view from the rooms.Service was great.A big shout out to Jose, waiter at the pool side cafe who is an excellent person and serves with a smile always. Thanks, Jose, for bringing me that cup of coffee which was so much needed and was greatly appreciated.
For those who needs to stay around downtown the location is great. There is a jogging road around the isle with around 1 mile os distance, great to do some outside activity. And for those who likes inside exercise they have a great gym.Oh and the food.. they have like the best dishes you could imagine.I would like to congratulate the reception service, specially Jeff and Sebastian, at any time they are able to attend to any need, always very attentive and polite.
I've stayed at other Mandarin Oriental hotels 3 times in the last few years. Each time, they lived up to their reputation of being a high, 5-star, fantastic hotel experience. I told anyone who would listen that the MO was best hotel you could pick - up there with the Peninsula and the St Regis. The MO in Miami was a different story though. Below are my gripes. Mind you, these gripes only apply to our expectations of staying at a 5-star hotel, not a Best Western. :)1) We tried to check-in just before 3pm and the room wasn't ready. We ended up sitting in the lobby until almost 4pm before they checked us in.2) No-one showed us the room or the hotel amenities - they just handed us the room card.3) Luggage wasn't taken up to our room as requested. After about 30 minutes, I had to go back downstairs and grab the luggage myself.4) If you ask them to hold any luggage for you, they just leave it at the front door - they don't secure it anywhere - even if it sits out for 6 hours. Great place for a luggage thief to visit.5) No turn-down service.6) The lady in the gift shop was downright rude to us.7) Not very proactive with guests who bring kids. They knew that we were bringing a 2 year old and 6 year old. The MO in Boston had toys and a crib already in our room. They even had fancy name tags made for our kids and remembered their names - wow! The MO in Miami didn't do anything. It even took 2 requests before we could get a crib in the room.8) They told us at check-out that the Amex $100 room credit didn't apply our gift shop purchases. I wish they told us that before we made the purchases. At least the lady at the front desk reversed those charges, which was nice.9) The concierge couldn't break my $50 and didn't try and help me find a solution either. I think that they should know that when a guest tries to break a large bill, it's usually so that they can hand out tips to hotel staff. If even the hotel concierge doesn't have a customer service, solutions-focused attitude, then who else would? This is the only negative review of a hotel that I've ever made. The MO Miami is certainly better than a Hilton hotel, but it shouldn't be labeled as a 5-star hotel.
Fantastic hotel. True 5-star experience on Key Brickell, which is a man made, private island.MO has a great location, overlooking the city and the bay.Rooms are great, with foyer / bathroom / bedroom / balcony setup.Service is excellent, on par with 5-star hotel.FOMO members get great treatment.I recommend this hotel over many other "hipster" hotels around Brickell City Center.
