Foodies unite! This is your top tier dining experience in Miami. I’m from Orlando and took a food trip to MIA trying many of the Michelin and James Beard awarded restaurants. By far, Itamae was the most exceptional, my favorite, and a must try for any foodie. The satisfaction of each item is 110%. This is a chef who has mastered his craft and is now pushing the envelope in new and exciting ways. He manages to create a sense of nostalgia and playfulness on his dishes. If you live in Miami or are visiting definitely make Itamae a stop.

If you want to find perfect combinations of flavors, you should come here. All seafood was super fresh. Amazing service. Be lucky to sit at the bar inside. Menu always changes that is unique. All sushi are must have!

Amazing menu and food! My girlfriend and I sampled the menu from start to finish and everything was impeccably executed. The wine and apéritif selection is also top notch and features organic, biodynamic, and off the beaten path producers that pairs perfectly with the menu. The service was also as good as it gets. Chef Chang is a very nice and personable man who took the time out to talk to us while we dined at the chef’s counter. His passion for his cooking truly shows. Itamae was worth the visit 10x over!

Excellent restaurant in the Design District. Food is very tasty, service is good. The cebiche is very good as well as the Hamachi tiraditos. The nigiris are good as well. Restaurant is more on the expensive side but it’s among the best in Miami. No wonder it is recognized by Michelin this year

Prob the one of the best restaurant in Miami. My fiance took me here on his birthday, and it was definitely a good decision! We’ll be back for sure!

This was one of my favorite meals of the year. Everything was delicious, especially the lobster ceviche! Wine and sake list was also impressive. Service was friendly. Love an establishment that takes so much care in everything they do!

Amazing lunch from the beginning to the dessert, best fusion Peruvian restaurant in miami.really good service. The best Peruvian chef in miami

On the see and be seen courtyard of all the designers you have and haven't heard of, this place fits in. There is a real Japanese-Peruvian food connection (ie Nobu) with both giving a lot of space to raw seafood in various forms. If you are open-minded there are some good dishes, but if you are expecting traditional Japanese, despite the name, this isn't your place. Unfortunately for us, we started with the best dishes, tiraditos in very interesting presentations and were very impressed. Next was a ceviche: very generous portion, but fish overwhelmed by the peppers. Although we have no aversion to spicy, it detracted in this case. Worst for last, a mash-up of cooked scallops in a parmesan cream sauce over sushi rolls. Well, we gave it a shot.... Small menu seems to change often. Very kind young server on her third day who was really present. Expensive.

Fun mix of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. Tried the tiradito with blue fin tuna, ceviche with lobster and grouper and a warm maki with scallops, avocado and Parmesan. The last one was the least tasty one, and the ceviche won. Great French white wine and service. Love the location and court yard.

Unfortunately, restaurant did not live up to the hype. Compare to NYC restaurants, this place is very disappointing. Their signature dish was just looks but no substance ( very acidic and octopus was not tender at all, rather chewy). In fact, the predominant note in all the dishes was the overpowering acidity (sour) that i can't even taste the seafood or other elements in the dish. Sushi rolls were so basic that even supermarket rolls were probably better. And beware that outside dining is pretty much tables and chairs underneath umbrellas so you're pretty much at the mercy of the weather. Overall, if you like small and SOUR food portions then you might like this place...
