The food is delicious but the atention is not good. It is unrespectful hurry the costumer when they finished to eat. Or not to offer the split accounts when the table is big.
I come here all the time, and it’s my favorite place. Food is great and so are the workers. It’s very affordable if you plan on coming with a lot of family and are on a budget. The inside is decorated nicely and it feels cozy.
We went a long time ago, because the food was great, but a little pricey. We decided to return again, we order fried fish , plantains and some samples. The server was great and the food . But the prices were too much. And they charge you a fee for using card that they don't explain to you. Sadly would not return.

I really liked this Miami Suburban Seafood concept. Nice limited Seafood menu, affording the restaurant to focus rather than offer everything that swims in the ocean. Service was both hospitable and expeditious. Strong demand for seating in a relatively limited capacity restaurant. Again, I really like the menu and a couple of choices that focus on a more economical offering (combo plate with soup, entrée and dessert or coffee) in addition to serving high-end Seafood. Worth a visit!
WOW… what happened to El Floridita? As a UM student living on campus years ago, this was my favorite restaurant to take my out-of-town friends to. Any time anyone was in the mood for seafood, I encouraged them try this restaurant. The food was always so fresh, flavorful, and the portions were more than worth the prices. My favorite was the appetizer sampler, El Combo Floridita. It had the perfect mix of seafood and Cuban-style sides. It was enough for 3 people to share before their meals, and also good enough to BE the meal.I went back today with a coworker who had never been there and ordered to-go. I hadn’t been there in about 2 years and was excited to return - oh man, was I embarrassed that I even chose this restaurant. The sampler is now completely different which wasn’t really the issue, although I do feel the original combination of items was WAY better. First of all, the portion sizes are RIDICULOUS for the price. I swear it had like 6 small calamari rings, a couple of shrimp, and 3 small chunks of fish. This photo was taken without taking anything out. This was all that was given. The fish and shrimp were tasteless, like they fried some frozen fish from Walmart. The fish croquetas, which I used to say were the best fish croquetas in Miami, were extremely BLAND. The ONLY thing that made the food taste better was the dipping sauce they gave with the food, but unfortunately they only give you one small container. I kept saying “sorry, this wasn’t like this before!” to my coworker who was also disappointed by the food after I raved about this restaurant.I don’t mind paying high prices for good food, but this was such a disappointment that it felt like a complete rip off, like paying $10 for a McDonald’s burger.Needless to say, this is my last time going here. This is just yet another restaurant that used to be amazing that has now sacrificed taste, quality, and decent portion sizes.
We go to this restaurant at least once a week, The reason we like the $12 menu is because of the perfect size portions, My husband loves sweets, I don't car for it so he would get my dessert and his . Today we were told the dessert is no longer included with the $12 menu. We understand , that's fine , we don't have a problem with paying for the dessert, so my husband ordered the Natilla Catalana, When they brought it to him it was the same SMALL size of the Dessert included with the $12 menu, so he told the waitress to take it back...If they are going to charge for the desserts then they have to make the portions a regular size...Other than that the food is really good..!!!!!!
Had dinner at El Florida this evening. I was disappointed that they didn’t have the calamari rice which is my favorite. I Had other options like, Lobster bisque and pasta in a squid ink. For appetizers we had a dozen mussels in a garlic wine sauce. Enjoyed it very much. They have a daily $12 menu that includes a small soup, either chicken or fish, the entrée(small portions) and a dessert, usually a flan, custard or bread pudding. Service was great today. Great location too for those of us in the Kendall area.
This place has great food all around. My cousin took me for a quick bite of some appetizers. I was so impressed that I have been back 3 more times. I have had the following and have all been great: fish tacos, flordita sample, and the steak. All have been great. Sides have been rice and beans and Maduro. The last time I went I had shrimp al ajillo. It was great!!! Plenty of shrimp.
Great food & excellent service!
