Staying here now. Gorgeous property but the service experience isn’t what I expected. Don’t come here expecting your Marriott loyalty to mean anything to them, because it clearly does not. This means if you’re staying on points they don’t look at is your loyalty being rewarded with fantastic service and stay. It’s seems more like they’re just putting up with guests staying for free. Exactly the opposite of what should go on. They restrict what rooms are available for upgrades, which is absurd and degrades that loyalty benefits which is indicative of what I’ve experienced in general with Marriott Bonvoy. They sent me an email a couple weeks prior making it seem like they were doing me a favor by giving me an opportunity to upgrade to a suite for something over $1,000/night. Simply put, they just don’t get it.
I stayed there for a wedding. Upon arriving the front desk lady I think her name is Daysi was very nice. I arrived before 4:00 pm and they didn’t have a room. She allowed me to check in and wonder around till they had something available. The wedding was at 6:30 pm at the hotel so I was panicking due to timing to get ready. The guys at the Burger Bar were amazing! The drinks and food were perfect. There were to things that I didn’t like. There was construction noise in the Morning and when I asked for a late check out the lady said no and then said complimentary 11:30 am. I was like whatever and when I was leaving I encounter a poster in the closet were it says that check out is at noon. I was very upset because she lie to me and pretended that was being nice when she wasn’t. Here is the hotel pic where it clearly says that checkout is at noon.
Our party of 4 visited La Gourmandise at the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort on a Saturday for afternoon tea. I booked a reservation on Open Table and mentioned in the notes that we were celebrating both a birthday and 10th wedding anniversary. The resort confirmed with us the morning of. When we arrived, we were instantly impressed by the atmosphere. For context, the four of us all live along Miami Beach, so we are accustomed to beautiful views, but the atmosphere inside of the resort was stunning. Every person on staff was delightful to interact with. We were escorted back to the cafe area, where we found our table already set. A couple nearby was also enjoying the tea. Anyway, when we were all there are sitting, Michaela surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne to share in celebration of all of our milestones. She was absolutely amazing all afternoon, and she was running that area nearly by herself! The food, the service, the ambiance was fantastic. We enjoyed watching a wedding party walk back and forth also. The cafe area walked outdoors to a second-floor landing, where we stepped out after tea to enjoy the ocean views, pool views, and watch the wedding being set up. Just the best afternoon, and we can't wait to return just for fun!
This hotel is the definition of timeless, it stays getting better day by day. The exquisite art around the hotel transports you to another world. Service all throughout is great and it fills my heart with joy to see some staff at the bar who've been there since the opening.
The rooms at this hotel are incredible, the design and view from our room was out of this world. The Front desk service was above and beyond, however the service at the St Regis Bar could use some work. Overall very pleased with my stay and would love to come back.
Beautiful large hotel close to the beach in Miami. Stayed here before the pandemic. The good:- Beautiful, clean rooms with gorgeous views of the ocean.- Luxurious, tropical feel.- Great location for visiting the beach. The not so good:- Service was below 5 star / 5 diamond standards.- Pool complex could be bigger.I know some people say the rooms are a little dated, but they are clean and well appointed. If you want an ultra-modern hotel, you may want to stay somewhere else. The location is amazing, as it is right on the beach. Walk out from the pool complex right out onto the beach.Service was a little below standard for a hotel of this class. The hotel didn't seem all that busy when I stayed here, but getting a service request completed took a long time. Also, the pool complex is nothing special. While most people do go out onto the beach, the privacy of the pool can be enjoyable, especially at night. I feel a little let down in that regard.Overall, great location, gorgeous views, nice rooms, and lacking a bit in the service department. I prefer this hotel over the Savoy. For the price, you might be able to do a little better, but you could also do a lot worse.Rooms with ocean views are highly recommended.
Would I ever come back to this resort? NEVER!! They shouldn't call themselves a resort. As a Platinum Marriott member we always get our upgrades, early check in, late checkout. Did I get ANY of them? ABSOLUTELY NOT! My room was ready 3.5 hours later (check in at 7 pm) and starting at 11 am of checkout date not only 1 but 4 people were constantly knocking on my door. Didn't even get help getting luggage downstairs. THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY nothing to compare with THE RITZ. Not worth trying it. Would give 0 starts but the rooms are actually nice. Again nothing compared to The Ritz. No coffee maker, no snacks, empty bar. Again not worth 2000 dollars a night or even 150.000 points if you are using points for your stay.
Update: I do appreciate your response and your commitment to taking action to improve the service. I also want to note that since our first day, the service did improve and has been good. I should therefore update my rating as well. Thank you for the reply.Room was supposed to be ready at 4pm. It was not. It wasn’t ready until 5:15pm. Our luggage took another 45min to arrive. We asked housekeeping to help make the sofa bed, the staff who arrived refused to mask, even though mask is required. We asked the staff to mask and he refused, instead started an argument. The guest relation’s response, while trying to investigate the issue, was half blaming us. So far the service has been totally and absolutely terrible, unbefitting of St. Regis, or even a Courtyard.
Highly recommend! Super nice staff, great amenities, breakfast was also good. Special thanks to Sahil from Atlantikos for going extra for us, we appreciate it. Check in/out was also convenient. Hotel offers free coffee at lobby daily 6.30 to 10 am. Mall across the road has a few busy restaurants and shopping ?Alejandro at the front desk was also very friendly and helpful. 5/5
I don’t even know where to start. We traveled over the New Year. The customer service was a zero. We asked the consierge team to help us with dinner reservations and they told us to check Open Table. We were promised “kid friendly activities” for our children and all they had was a icecream cart 2 of the 8 days of our stay. The gingerbread building was canceled the day of after we paid for it and showed up, and no one told us.The hotel gym has dirty towels and smelled of filth 5 of the 5 days I visited. The New Years dinner on property (the only holiday activity) was so bad we left and ordered food to the room.Laundry service got lost for a couple days and our kids had no pajamas or underwear.Needless to say for the price it is not worth it.
