Sever was nice and great ambiance. From out of town. Prices were comparable.
Waitress was excellent. It's a local place...the appetizers were excellent. Entrees were a mixed bag. Steak frites, the steak was tough, and not cooked properly, the rest was fine...wished they had dressed salad and placed on plate...it was on side fine...but oil and vinegar only...hoping for a mustard vingarette. For for price Meh. Chicken milianase was a sad thing with salad not on top or properly dressed...it didn't get eaten, so over all would I go back? It's pricey. And pretty so-so. Maybe brunch. And wine is excellent but huge mark up per glass...it was quite at 6 on Saturday night...which was very pleasant. And staff is very good!
Great food and service
We enjoyed a lovely meal at Oliverâs Bistro. We sat inside (not quite acclimatised to the heat of Miami!) and we were well looked after by our server. The Mahi Mahi was delicious! The starters were enormous so recommend splitting one! The desert menu was amazing but we had eaten too much to enjoy it! Lots of variety on the menu, including lots of fish which seems unusual here!
Oliver's is a longstanding neighborhood restaurant. The ambience is very comfortable, with indoor and outdoor seating. The quality/taste is inconsistent, unfortunately, and you cannot predict if it will be fair or good, or it will be great. The good thing is it's hardly ever bad. The dishes they produce are "safe" with a variety on the menu that likely can please most. We've been twice for dinner in the past 2-3 months and not had the same experience--once great, the 2d just so-so. Unfortunately the 2d visit, we brought in someone who had recently moved to the neighborhood and were a bit sorry we recommended it, as they were expecting something better, based on the first experience. The same can be said for the service. First time was terrific, the 2d time we were served and then abandoned for the remainder of the duration of our meal, had to pour our own wine throughout, and couldn't flag a server for anything we needed-- including the check when we wanted to leave. (Both times on a weekday evening.) I do think they bring value to the community, and especially to all the residents who live on or near West Avenue neighborhood. I look for local restaurants to support and like being a "regular." I wish Oliver's was more consistent, which would win my continual patronage.
Great friendly staff who were very polite and helpful, amazing food, would recommend Oliver’s to anyone visiting Miami Beach!
