The people seemed nice while I was waiting for my N.Y. strip. I ordered an N.Y. strip with a double serving of veggies to go, and when I returned to the hotel, the meat was not medium, but it was cooked medium rare. Also, it had no flavor. Lastly, it was so chewy and hard to chew. The veggies were hard and not cooked through, and they gave maybe half one serving of veggies. The food was terrible, to say the least; I hate that I spent 38 bucks on an awful steak. I hate wasting my money; I should have bought the 30-dollar chicken from the expensive restaurant under my hotel. I was left unsatisfied; oh, and did I mention the meat was cold? Don't order meat from here.
Good food, good location, genuine pizza. yum. will keep coming back ??we loved the pizza, the calamari appetizer and the martinis. the ravioli was not a winner for me as the spinach tasted canned but everything else including the bread was great.
My wife and I were visiting south beach from New Hampshire on vacation. We attended La locanda for dinner. The food was amazing. I had the vongole and my wife had the fiocchetti. Both meals were amazing and authentic Italian dinners. The service was excellent. Our waiter even gave me a drink on the house after desert to celebrate our birthdays. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want excellent Italian food with a relaxing experience.
Graduation dinner
We have been to La Laconda many times and it is always a pleasure to have dinner here. The host is always available for any assistance to make us comfortable. The waiters always with a smile and very friendly. The food is always authentic Italian, amazing to say the least. Love eating coming here with my family.If you have a chance to meet the owner, nicer guy you won't find at south beach!
We had dinner at the La Locanda restaurant 2 nights ago. It was outstanding. We ordered the flat bread with tomato sauce and mozzarella. The crust was amazing and cooked to perfection. For the main meal, we both ordered spaghetti and meatballs. Delicious! Best spaghetti and meatballs we’ve ever had! Our server Cesare was prompt and very attentive. Wonderful experience! Look forward to dining at La Locanda again very soon!
Simple, nice, unpretentious. It is not the best Italian ever, for sure: the tomato sauce is incredibly “can”.
La Locanda used to be awesome. But, now it feel like a cheap place. They used to have nice table linens, a more relaxed & upscale atmosphere while still being affordable. Definitely not what it used to be.

What a wonderful dinner from start to finish! We had the sauteed mussels, and the sauce alone was superb! The lasagna was beyond delicious, and my linguine with baby clams was delicious! We highly recommend as a stop from the beach!
