The reason this restaurant gets to much business is because it is on the strip of south beach. You go for the ambiance. However, I ordered a breakfast sandwich that was actually very tasty, as was the mojito. The thing that sucks about this place is the slow service and the 20% service charge. They definitely don’t deserve that much of a tip. No wonder my breakfast was only $7!
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The guacamole was so old it looked super brown (stayed away from that immediately when I saw that on my nachos). The vegetables on my nachos tasted old as if they were frozen months ago and defrosted right before my meal. They had such a funky taste to them that I didn't eat them. The margaritas had zero alcohol in them and tasted like expired pineapple juice.
Went here on a Friday for lunch. $250 for a group of 5 for the location seemed to be average. The owner was nice and came and talked to us, even gave our entire table free shots. Food was good, nothing to rave about and nothing to complain about. I also dislike when places automatically add a 20% gratuity to the bill, good service deserves more and poor service deserves less 20 is the standard. Our server was actually great and paying with a card I couldn’t even add anything to try and give her more.
Delicious, perfectly flavored and cooked lobster, crab and salmon grill. I stopped by Jalapeño Mexican Kitchen for a mojito and small appetizer, after seeing the waiter deliver this to another table…my nephew said we want one of those although we had a paid meal in the next hour with a tour package. We ordered one to share and it was the best meal we had in Miami!! The beef nachos, guacamole and salsa were also fresh and flavorful…oh yeah…the mojito was great too!

Hugh drinks and good staffs were the only positive. Foods were average at best.
This place is pretty good if you like loud music and good drinks. The tacos here are the best in my opinion and got shots on the house which was pretty good for our first time here.
I enjoyed my shrimp tacos while my husband had his hamburger. The tacos had quite a few shrimps and they were delicious, The service was prompt and orderly. We loved it.
Not exactly a great way to kick off our Miami vacation. Food was okay at best and overly overpriced. I’d say you pay for the ambiance and experience of eating on Ocean Drive. The mango margarita was bland same with the fettuccine alfredo pasta. The chicken was rough and dry, I will say the burger was probably the best thing here. Service was nice for the most part but they did seem to really push us to get the XL Margarita size which ran $40+. We just wanted some lunch but when we constantly kept getting asked if we’d like to try the larger Margarita it was a negative for us. For the price point I’d say there are plenty of better options to eat at other than Jalapeño Mexican Kitchen.
The food is alright but the service was a bit slow. The menu is all over the place with offerings and pricing and doesn’t really have a flow. They hand you so many papers when you arrive that it’s very confusing. They have pretty large margaritas tho!
