Tiny, delicious tacos and margaritas that are also expensive. I had the carne asada steak tacos and the al pastor ‘heritage’ pork. Steak was amazing. Pork was okay, not great. Margarita was outstanding. The vibe was trendy, seating was packed, I ate at the bar and got great service. Yes, it’s dark, it can be loud, and it can be busy - it’s Miami along the beach! If you’re nearby, this is a great option, and while it may be $$$, many nearby options are $$$$ or $$$$$ - making Hoja a reasonable stop for great food!Things Hoja could add: better food allergen labeling - especially gluten free (“gf”), breakfast tacos (they don’t have them), more lighting.
This is a hidden gem in downtown Miami. Don't let the area scare you because you'll be missing out.
The tacos were made with love. I will be back for more.
Amazing food! As Mexican, I approve of this place a 100% and can say it’s very authentic! The tacos al pastor taste like the ones from Puebla!
delicious food and nice place
Two dollars for a Salsa this size is a ripoff. Tacos are pricey but good. The place is not bad. Just pricey for what it is.
saw this on a list of best new places to try in miami. was hesitant at first, but well deserved to be on that list.the tacos were good. the carne asada burrito was good. but literally just the salsas stole the show.i rarely order chips and salsa because it’s at such a high mark up, and usually just fine. but this was remarkable. each sauce was technically rich, delicious, and well paired. i’d eat 5 orders of chips and salsa from this place. wife agrees. it’s a little hole in the way type of place with some really impressive flavor.9/10
In terms of the taste of the items - 5/5. The food was fresh and was prepared entirely in front of me. And the packaging and service were very high quality. But, the prices are way too high for the portions that you receive. And almost everything is charged extra. Even the chips and salsa. And they serviced the dine-in customers who came after us first before my take-out order.Still a good place if you want to treat a friend with a good looking and good tasting quality food but, be prepared to spend way higher than what you would for a Mexican lunch esp in FL.
This place is awesome. I loved my burrito and smoky pineapple margarita so much that I had to write a review. Yummy!!! Great atmosphere too for a small restaurant.
The only reason it gets two stars is because of the tiny portion and the expensive cost for the teeny tiny burrito. Other than that the burrito was excellent, they serve it on a small plate, no chips. no condiments. no nothing. I would not go back for that alone. It's a shame , it has a nice vibe and décor. But the portion size was for a toddler.
