Overpriced sushi, used fake crab in a roll, lots of mayo when not even mentioned on the menu. Ran out of snapper (accommodated with yellowtail). Good Prosecco though. Overall take your money and enjoy something better elsewhere. It’s also located in a hotel lobby which was unclear.
We went on a double date and really enjoyed the food. Excellent sake and the sushi pizza was outstanding
The tables are communal style and when people left it took forever before anyone cleaned after them
I recently visited UMI and was beyond happy with my experience. I did their Miami Spice menu (like a restaurant week type thing for those not from this area) which was one of the best I’ve seen. Food was DELICIOUS, but also really enjoyed our server, Kelly. She was upbeat, attentive, fun to talk to, and very passionate about the restaurant and menu! Couldn’t have given better recommendations. Will certainly be back to visit!
We just went to UMI Sushi & Sake bar at the Delano South Beach, and had a magical experience. Wine, food, atmosphere. All amazing, and mostly was because of the excellent service and recommendations off Kelly. She could not have been any better. What an amazing girl. Recommend this restaurant 100%.
I wanted to like this dish, I really did. I love sushi and I love sushi grade tuna. The waiter’s recommendation convinced me to order it. The minute it arrived, the smell of rancid truffle oil was overwhelming. I tried a piece nonetheless as did my dining companion. We mentioned the rancid taste to the waiter who told the chef. We were told the chef threw out the oil but we were still charged full price for a dish we could not eat. A waste of $24. Big disappointment all around. It left a bad taste in our mouths ... literally, in an otherwise beautiful hotel.
Absolutely loved the table, the chairs, the setting, but the waiter was extremely cold. I ordered a chocolate martini, which was ok, but far from being the best I have ever had, yet certainly the most expensive. I ordered what they call The Chef's Menu, which is not a menu, but a single dish. Far too expensive for what it is. Would not go back.
