Pic shows 2 pastries... the top one was the individual sized Paris Brest (almond pastry with praline cream) which was our favorite. The bottom one is a pastry flan which reminded me a little of a chess cake, not very sweet and a little plain for my taste, but ok. Small clean shop. I liked how the kitchen was visible. The eclairs looked interesting, might come back for the coffee flavored one.
The customer is not always right at Jaqueline's. In fact, at least in our case, we were treated as if our opinion did not matter in the least. My husband and I went to Jacqueline's looking for some delicious cake to help celebrate my birthday. We were happy to see carrot cake in the display case and ordered a piece to share. I was expecting a moist, melt-in-your mouth, flavorful cake. Instead, I got cake with a dense, mealy, dry, texture and little flavor. We figured that it had probably been exposed to air too long and dried out, as the cake had been previously cut into individual slices. My husband went to the counter to explain the problem and request a piece of the chocolate cake to try instead. He did not get the chocolate cake but he did get an argument. He was told that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the cake - the cake wasn't dry; it was supposed to be that way - that was the way they made their cakes, etc. Then he was informed that he could have a piece of chocolate cake but only if he paid for it. We regret choosing this place for a special occasion. We won't be going back.
Sad Sad day at this bakery, they have a unique business model Customer is always wrong. Customer is a liar. Insult Customer telling them they have bad taste. Customer is to blame for not reading bottom of receipt(no refunds) Lie to customers about freshness of food. Continue to argue with unhappy customer, insisting the rock hard cake is made that way and all their customers love it. Offer to sell unhappy customer another piece of rock hard cake at full retail price while continuing to argue with customer that their cake is fresh and the unhappy customer knows nothing about cake. Bottom line; if customer is unhappy, then they just need to suck it up.
If you are fortunate enough to be able to visit this bakery, forget about your diet because the goodies are amazing. The owner is trained in France and these treats are all authentic. The baguettes are amazing - crusty and tasty. The showcase is filled with goods that any Paris patisserie would be proud of - and you can get them right here! Quiches, Croissants, pastries of all kinds made right in front of you with the finest ingredients by people who really care about what they are doing. It's not cheap, but you really get what you are paying for and more!
Stopped here for mid-afternoon cool drinks and treats. So many tempting items to pick from! Our daughter loved her creme brulee. Be patient as they sometimes get busy and you may have to wait a bit at the counter but it will be worth it!
Amazing... Everything was delicious! I loved the open view bakery where you can watch Jacqueline's team create the next masterpiece. Everyone was welcoming, friendly and generous with their time, helping me while I kept going back and forth between all of their yummy options. Honestly, the hardest part is figuring out what you want to choose to enjoy! Highly recommend!
I visited this bakery as I have before and one of the girls there (Ariel) was so rude. I love supporting my small businesses in town as I own one myself but this is not the first time the staff there is rude.
Wow, what a selection. We wanted to try breakfast as well but didn't make it. Our afternoon snack, real scones and chocolate croissant were great.
Wow. just bought about 35 dollars worth of patries from there and they were stale. I called and was told by Alexi that they dont give refunds. I right on your receipt. and that the owner was sleeping and wouldn't pick up the phone anyway. I told her I would write a review... she said she didnt care. Bad business. Bad pastries.
We were taking a walk waiting for our food from Melbourne Seafood Station to get done, and decided to stop here for some pre-dinner sweets. The kids got some ice cream, and we picked up some very nice macaroons and some pastries. Very good, and we were all happy. Very nice little bakery.
