I visited the old time diner for dinner and had the catfish and hushpuppies with a steaming baked potato it was delish ! I have ate alot of catfish but nothing a good as this !
Really disappointed the last time you mother-in-law 8 there I just have my food that 3 times I just ordered a hamburger and shake almost 20 bucks didn't get the steak sauce for the hammers absolutely horrible no seasoning no taste no nothing the milkshakes nothing but soup like there's no ice cream in ITIT's like chocolate milk
All you can eat Catfish every day. Huge filets, breaded and cooked perfect. Their breakfasts are very good too. Great waitresses.
First-time visitors to this establishment. Promptly seated on a Friday night. Drinks came quickly. Fried catfish w/breaded okra & french fries was delicious, the tartar sauce tasted home-made. The other meal was spaghetti with meatballs, just average IMHO, heavy on the parmesan. The side salad was just okay. Garlic toast points had an unusual flavor so didn't eat them. Place was very busy. We'll go back, but can't recommend the spaghetti.
Had the best daily special, (10 oz. N.Y. strip) my server Amber was very polite, fast and accurate! Food was great and served in a timely manner. Great job, Amber and Old time dinner! Defenetely coming back.
Wanting to go to a new place we stopped here to give it a try. We stood to be seated for 5 minutes with workers passing us by and no one made any effort to recognize we were there. I finally stopped someone and asked loudly if we needed a reservation. Still no smile, still no greeting, but we were seated. The food? HORRIBLE! The lo boil was too salty, and we are salt lovers, and the shrimp was like rubber, over cooked. My medium hamburger was dry but did have a good flavor. I had to check for my lettuce, tomato & onion, which was hidden under the patty,as they were extremely small and extremely thin. HUGE disappointment. Our waitress, Theresa, was out of sorts, never delivered our oysters, forgot my drink refill and shared with us that two workers had given her a hard time that day. We asked when they closed as it was 8pm and we were still eating and she indicated it was late so we hurried to leave. Others came in and we saw on the way out they were open until 9pm. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK! Get a delicious, juicy hamburger at Applebees instead and your lo boil at Red Crab.
Our expectations weren't very high but we had heard some positive things about this place so we thought we would give it a try. It was a huge disappointment. The burger was big but had little taste. Spaghetti had plenty of sauce on top but is was floating in a watery bowl as if they didn't drain it before putting it in the bowl. Sometimes we give places a second chance if they're slow due to short staffing. Not this place. The staff was very friendly and our order came out fast. No complaints about the staff or speed of service. For us it was all about the food which was below average. There are far too many places we like and other places we haven't tried yet so there's little chance we would go back here.
I went with 13 others for a bday lunch.The restaurant wasn’t prepared for us even though we called two days ahead. I ordered 8oz chopped steak with gravy and onions. After one bite I noticed meat not done, I explained to waitress. Not one minute later the owner is in my face screaming about the cost of food and my now wanting a cheeseburger. I told him why but after his temper tantrum yelling (2 other tables left I cancelled cheeseburger too. All of us were shocked at his behavior-you don’t threaten and hollar at a customer. Won’t go back
Went here with another couple last night. Friday night special was all you can eat catfish. Fish was outstanding but at 6PM they were out of baked potatoes and hush puppies. Now what seafood restaurant runs out of hush puppies that early. Place was packed and our sever was overwhelmed. Took forever to get refills on drinks and she never even asked if we wanted more fish (not that we would have needed any with the size of the initial portions, huge). Will probably try it again to see if this was just one of those nights.
I don't know how this place had good reviews. This was the worst breakfast I've had in years! Country omelet turned ot to be an onion omelet with some bits of ham and green peppers. The home fries were burned to a delicate chocolate brown with burned cheddar cheese on top. Good I had their thin, tasteless coffee to wash it down.
