The best Mexican food I could eve wish for. I have eaten at dozens of Mexican restuarants in my vast travels around this state and country, and I must honestly say, that Carmelita's is second to none. Their food is Excellent ! Go there once and you will be hooked. It's that good, I promise !
The food was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the Veggie Mexican pizza and added chicken, which was enough to feed a family. I ordered the Verde Enchiladas (Hot) and contrary to a recent review, they were flavorful, fresh, spicy, and satisfying! The hot salsa is amazing; it's totally addictive to where we may just go and buy a giant container to take home!Our server, Lisandro, was not only speedy and accurate, but he was also friendly and attentive! Thank you so much for providing us with exceptional service!We will 100% be coming back and would recommend Carmelita's to anyone looking for delicious quality Mexican food.
I want to congradulate the people of Largo for having this fine Mexican restuarant in their backyard. I am from Tampa, across the bay. We have no such quality Mexican restuarant in Tampa, and I am jealous of you folks. If I want a wonderful, premium mexican meal, I've got to travel at least a half an hour to the Largo location of Carmelita's. I am 69 yrs old and a native Tampanian. I have traveled extensively and tried dozens of mexican restuarants in the country. After all of that, The best Mexican fare I have tasted is in my back door, so to speak. You folks in Largo are very fortunate is all I can say. One thing that worried me, was, that I rode my motorcycle over to Carmelita's tonight, Monday, 5/09/2022 and when I arrived at 8:30 pm, the parking lot was empty ? Are you kidding me? A place this good and they get no support from the local community? I was shocked ! A business cannot survive without patronage, you know, money. No customers, no money, no business! That's just how it is. It would be a damned shame if they had to close this location due to a lack of financial support by the local community. If that happened, then you would all know how I feel, longing for some delicious Mexican food from Carmelita's, but having to travel one half hour or more to get it. Please support this wonderful restuarant and keep i's doors open. Otherwise, you and I will have to travel even further for some great Mexican food. We in Tampa would love for them to move over here. They would make a fortune as folks here in Tampa love eating out and they love good food. We are at a deficit here when it comes to good Mexican restuarants. We would love to have them here in Seminole Heights and in Brandon. A store in each of these locations would be a literal Goldmine for the Lopez family. So, if you don't appreciate great Mexican food over there in Largo, tell the Lopez's to please come to Tampa and Brandon. We would love to have them and support them very well.
Waste of money! Ordered the verde enchiladas and they were so bland. The chicken had no taste and the sour cream verde sauce only tasted like sour yogurt. The corn was from a can and the rice was obviously made earlier in the day. The service was impeccable, but the food lacked any flavor.
This is one of my favorite places, but they were extremely rude tonight. Said there was a 20 minute wait to be seated because they are short staffed. I asked to wait at an empty table, and was very willing to actually wait. I was understanding and have been understanding of their ongoing staffing issues as I am there several times a month and service is getting slower and slower. But they refused to let me wait at a table, said was one party in front of us. But they had plenty of open tables for the party in front of me too. This is an unfortunate event with one of my favorite places. Will have to either drive to Dunedin or Pinellas Park from now on!
Got the chicken enchiladas with a sour cream sauce covering the whole thing. Delicious black beans and rice... this place was deliciousMy brother took us here for our first time and I'm glad he showed us this place. Me and my fiance and daughter will Def come back!
We just had our first meal at Carmelita’s in Largo. Food was great, everything was delicious and tasted fresh. The atmosphere was fun and our waitress Josefine was so pleasant and inviting. We will be back. Thank-you!
We have been searching for Mexican food close to the tex-mex we are use to and finally came close to it. They have tamales that are very good and they have a hot red and green sauce that has a wonderful flavor. Have tried several things so far and they are all very tasty. Burritos, tacos and fajitas are great.

Average experience with decent food. The prices are quite high but you get a ton of food to retain the value. I feel like they could serve smaller portions, drop the price, and get more customers.
