This was an interesting place! We tried the sushi, so we have to start there. It was decent. Nothing to write home about but certainly acceptable. However! Where else can you get a dang good chicken satay skewer with, what was that, a panang dipping sauce that was great? This, in the same place as perfectly done ribs and fried okra. Check this place out!
Great BBQ and Thai food! ???
I had a craving for Sweet and Sour Chicken. I tried The Rib House based on the great reviews. The egg rolls were fantastic. The sweet and sour chicken was not what I was expecting. It came unbreaded in a soup type dish. Tasty but disappointed, I was told it was the Thai version. So I ordered the breaded and fried version. This time it was soggy like uncooked French toast. Last time in Denver, they fried the chicken in the breading and put the sauce on the side for dipping. The flavors were good and the service was friendly and quick. They really cared about making it right. The presentation is beautiful and the serving size is reasonable for the price.
Used to be my favorite restaurant in Lakeland. Disappointed with my last two visits. Service was great as always but the sushi wasn't nearly as good as I'm used to getting here. I'd still go back but hoping they can improve the consistency of the food. I went here for years and everything was always amazing and fresh. Hoping they just hit a little rut during covid and will be better next time.
MAIN MEAL: The menu is divided into several different cuisines. Our favorite is Thai - it was available, and it was impressive. Between my dining partner and I, we ordered 6 different Thai dishes. ALL were VERY delicious, and very well presented. SUSHI: My dining partner ordered a standard selection from their Sushi menu but, due to some dietary restrictions, I went with "made-to-order". Hers was a nice presentation, and was deemed tasty. Mine, however, was lackluster in taste, and rather sloppily put together. (Note: when ordering, our server didn't know what Nori was). SERVICE: Not as slow as most Asian restaurants, but not what cold be deemed "good" service (it may be a staffing issue). NEGATIVE: I first ordered a slight change in my 2 Thai entrees, requesting the meat selection be reversed - I was told there would be a $6.00 upcharge to make ANY change to the dish(s). THAT is utterly ridiculous - and I declined. OVERALL: You bet we'll be back. Our Thai dishes were better than we've had at most Thai specific restaurants.
First time eating here with the family but we asked for takeout. They forgot two orders of sweet and sour chicken. Very disappointed because the family was hungry and my 10 year old has to eat the rice alone. If the family hadn't eaten their food( because they were hungry) I'd take it all back and get a refund of it all. I won't take away the tips I gave to the servers because they were nice and helpful
I have tried all the sushi places in Lakeland… rib house by FAR has the best sushi!!!
Love love love The Rib House! Very diverse menu and EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Super fresh sushi. Breakfast, lunch or dinner all great food and service.
Service and food was awesome! Our server Annie did a excellent job. I would definitely go back.
Having lived in Lakeland I am slightly embarrassed to admit I had never been to The Rib House. This past Christmas Eve my fiancé and I rolled into town from Atlanta overlooking the holiday schedule for most in the area.To our delight they were open. I ordered a salmon salad and my guy had pot roast. Both were delicious.
