I’ve read reviews about how this location has gone downhill, but I’ve been a customer for years so I figured I’d try again. Sure enough, the entire experience was terrible outside of my waitress (who I felt bad for). I ordered the baby back ribs and they came out barely warm and so tough i had to physically rip them apart. The waitress admitted she wouldn’t eat them like that. They brought me a new rack that was hot and yes, more tender, but not the way I’m used to them being - fall off the bone good. The baked beans were ice cold - no joke and when I told the manager he said “I just told him that they were cold” so I guess I wasn’t the only customer with cold beans. I then got a new batch that were hot. The garlic bread was so burned one side was charred badly…I guess they thought if they presented it with the one side up facing me that I wouldn’t notice, but it’s hard not to notice when you start to eat it. Finally the French fries came warm when normally they are hot. Considering this was the only part of my meal besides the drink that wasn’t totally messed up I decided to eat them. I am so sad this place has fallen off like this. This will be the last time I ever visit this location. The only good Sonny’s location in my opinion is the one in Land O Lakes. Hope someone who owns this franchise reads this and takes it seriously because it was a bad experience. Future customers beware ?
First time going to a Sonny’s in a while. The decor and vibe was similar to a normal Sonny’s restaurant. Our service was very friendly, although it took a little long to take our orders. The food was good. The loaded tots were scrumptious. I got the Brisket Grilled Cheese with Mac and Cheese. The grilled cheese was excellent. My Mac and cheese was alright. One member of my party got a burnt burger (Shown below). This was taken into notice and the friendly service apologized for the inconvenience. Overall, was a good experience.
Ordered curbside takeout online and left a good tip. Showed up on location at the correct time. Called number and no one picked up the phone and their voice-mail is full, called again 5 min later and same thing. The point of curbside is to get in and out quick. We had to go inside and still wait on our food way past the allotted time from our online order. So on top of not doing their job they also took our tip. Horrible service. Don't bother with curbside.Edit: They also did not have 2 of our sides, final straw. Won't return to this location.
Horrible service. We sat in the restaurant for over an hour and haven’t been fed yet. Employees don’t care. Kitchen is making to-go plates and ignoring customers inside the restaurant.
Called in an order, girl said 10 minutes. It was 30 minutes and I asked the girl working curbside about my order. She went in and checked. Brought it out to me and I told her if it was cold, I was going to call the manager and give them heck. While she was taking care of my bill, I checked and the fries were stoned cold. She came out and I told her that it was just setting in the restaurant with nobody bothering to bring it out to me. I asked if I could have some fresh fries and she brought me some. I could heat up the meat and beans, that was no problem, but she could of at least took my drink off the bill. By the way, she was the manager. I know it's busy and they are short handed but come on, don't say 10 minutes if it's going to be longer.
Very disappointed...pulled pork was cold. When they took it back and returned with a new plate, it too was lukewarm at best. Sent it back, loss of appetite at this point. Just seems like they haven't been able to rebound from pandemic as efficiently as other establishments. Sad because the salad bar was a huge hit.
Good BBQ at a reasonable price. The staff were helpful and attentive. The menu had good variety. The place was busy, but not crowded. The atmosphere was quite enough for conversation and made for a great place to hang out with friends and family. There were several flavors of BBQ sauce on the table, original, sweet, smoky and hot, something for each of our taste. We were not disappointed and will make this our stop for BBQ in the Lakeland area.
Loved it. Those ribs were delicious.the chicken, magnificent. We had the family feast it was all so amazing. The flavor just blasted in your mouth. Best food decision ever made
Absolutely delicious!Began with a few hiccups and waited a little longer then need be, but they were all so kind and came out to let us know how things were coming! The restaurant is a little older but the charm is definitely here.Really am glad we chose this for a small family dinner, and will definitely be coming back. :)
We are there twice during our trip. Once at the Valdosta Georgia location and once at the Bartow Florida location. Both were excellent! Had the brisket, baked beans and coleslaw in Georgia and then the ribs (baby-back), green beans and Mac-n-cheese in Florida. Great food, excellent friendly service and fair prices. Plus the cornbread is amazing, nice and sweet! Will definitely stop again at any locations!
