It’s said that the Silver Ring Cafe in Lakeland has the best Cuban sandwiches in Lakeland. Heather and I had never been there, so we decided to go. The Cubans (and sides) were great! Been there since 1947, but have lost their lease and will be moving or closing down.
Always great service. I love the girls who work there. Stopped by today, 12/28/21 around noon to get a large order for the family at home. They were slammed, between the called in orders(My inconsiderate butt should have called it in), the walk in orders(ME....), and the full seated dine in area, they kept up and kept track of everyone there. They really do care about their customers and there's many there who are so regular they.walk in, sit down, and the girls great them by their 1st name and ask if they want their regular. There aren't any of the Mom and Pop style places that exist anymore. This is a definite keeper.Great authentic Cuban Sandwich shop. Many other comfort food selections also like Chicken and Yellow rice, Black Bean Soup, just to name a couple. I've never had a bad meal there. I only wish their hours were longer in the evening.
Not a real Cuban sandwich. Added lettuce and tomato to it. Offers hot or cold. Ordered hot but they only pressed it for a little bit, everything inside was still cold. They have a stuffed potato on the menu and I asked if it’s like a papa rellena, and they had no idea what that was.nice people though.
Fantastic Cuban and chicken and yellow rice!! If you are downtown looking for a quick meal, look no further. The food is excellent, it's quick, and you won't be disappointed!! I've heard they may be closing soon due to leasing issues. Don't miss the opportunity to try this great local business that has been a staple of Lakeland's for over 35 years!!
Food is so good we ordered double to take home and eat again. Please try the Cuban and soup combo!!!

I understand the owner of the building has refused to renew their 30+ year lease to bring in a "different type" of business. Silver Ring is a landmark on the park. People drive from other counties to get a sandwich and deviled crab. Many former Lakelanders order and have several sandwiches shipped to them. I'm terribly disappointed, but many of us will pass on the new tenant, whomever they may be, and follow Silver Ring to their new location. Bad decision, Ms Landlady. Bad decision.
