First time here and I will be back. I ordered the fried trio, everything was delicious. Our server Peyton was magnificent. She went above and beyond. Thank you for the birthday cake!

Excellent service, great food, at a reasonable price. A casual and comfortable atmosphere makes Shells the perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood. I don't eat seafood, so I enjoyed a delicious burger, while my wife got her fried shrimp, scallop, and fish fix. We will definitely be back.

Hubby and I first time here for date night, our waitress Carla was a joy to take care of us, she went above and beyond with exceptional service the food was delish.

Service and food were both excellent. Five people dined and everyone was very pleased with the food. They have a decent sized dining room and a bar.

Excellent service. It’s so rare nowadays to find stellar customer service, but that have it right @Shells! Our server was on top of it, friendly, attentive and prompt.Food was delicious! We were served quickly, orders were correct. I had the Caesar salad with shrimp & they was such a generous amount of shrimp that I wound up sharing it!Others in my party had the swordfish & the bacon burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal.Excellent all around. Will return if we’re back in the area.

I wanted to share a wonderful experience we had Saturday for lunch at Shell's in Lakeland. It's located in the old Manny's Steakhouse building down by Outback on the Southside. I can't believe it's been there three years and we've never been - that's crazy! We won't be making that mistake again as it was fantastic. First, a compliment to the staff. Kinza was our server (in the purple shirt). She was everything you'd want a great server to be. Friendly, attentive, but not over the top, made good recommendations, etc. Be sure to ask for her, you won't be disappointed. Also, Jason, the GM has been there for all but the first three months at this location. It's clean and inviting, and the food was great (more on that below). He gave us a personal tour of the entire kitchen, we got to meet the team, and he let us in on some secrets they use to make the food taste so good - it was so fascinating. The kitchen staff was great too. We were hungry and hangry, so we didn't hold back on trying a bunch of stuff. I started out asking Kinza if they had fried oysters, to which she responded, no. Since they have fresh and steamed Chesapeake Bay oysters on the menu, I asked her if they might consider shucking them, then battering and frying them. She checked with the kitchen and they, unfortunately, said no. She then took it upon herself to go to Jason, the GM, and ask him. He came over to the table and was such a nice guy - so friendly. He said the reason they said no in the kitchen is that if you nick a belly when shucking the oyster, then try and fry it, it kind of explodes in the oil and makes a mess. Even so, he told me not to worry, he would personally go back and make me fried oysters. He came out of the kitchen a couple of minutes later with the exact oysters he was going to fry to show me how big they were - and they were big. Anyway, what a great guy to go the extra mile to make my experience all that it could be. There is a picture of them in this post, and let me tell you, they were amazing! Crispy on the outside and on the edges, and soft a creamy on the inside - the perfect combo. They came with their house-made Island sauce, which was a bit like a horsey sauce, and it paired perfectly. My wife, Gwen, and I shared some fried mushrooms and they were really good. Gwen got the linguini with blackened chicken and I got the linguini with bay scallops. Both dishes were great! My scallops were so tender and juicy, and it's so easy to overcook them where they become rubbery, but not the case here. Gwen's blackened chicken was lightly blackened, so not overpowering, and made with chicken tenderloins that were cooked perfectly moist and juicy. So, a bit of background here. We grew up in South Florida, Pembroke Pines, specifically, and we remember back around 1986 or so they opened down there. It was a smash hit! Everyone loved it. Their linguini is so unique tasting. First, it's a bit al dente, so it has a great mouthfeel and chew. Second, they do something to infuse flavor into the pasta itself. Then they make a white wine garlic cream sauce, which is so good I could drink it from a coffee mug. All this combines for a unique linguini that tastes amazing. Jason was kind enough to show us how they make it on our kitchen tour, and he even let us taste some of the linguini that was made and prepped for service. So cool. While we didn't have room for it on this trip, their New England Clam Chowder is really good, and so is their homemade Key Lime Pie. Those are from memory and Jason said the recipe had not changed. Also, we shared a bottle of chilled Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc, which was reasonably priced at $24. I hope you get to go and experience this place for yourself. Say hi to Jason and be sure to ask for Kinza as your server. Happy eating everyone!
