Came here for dinner with a co-worker for the first time, just on a limb. And I must say this place is a diamond in the rough. Food was fresh, and tasty. I ordered orange chicken and she ordered sesame. The orange is sweet which I love. The sesame was more savory.
It was nice to sit down at a restaurant and eat some delicious Chinese food. We had several dishes, and enjoyed them all. This place has been there for many years, and I have always enjoyed eating there. There aren't many restaurants like this that aren't buffets or designed just for carryout. Good food, good service.
I am visiting the area and found this only Chinese restaurant here , the food was a huge disappointment to me. Since the customer service was excellent, I gave it two stars.We ordered the Orange Beef, there was nothing tasted like it should be, the beef was mushy ( it should be crispy) and not fresh at all ( the meat could be old ) ; the duck was too salty and had no flavor. The green bean with beef was ok.
Consistently great food, good service, excellent value. I've been coming here for decades. I'm puzzled how the food quality has gone down according to other reviews - the same owners are still there. Thinking about all my favorites (Mapo Tofu, triple delight, spicy chicken, chicken & broccoli, hot sour soup) - I'm heading there now.
We are from out of town and ate here for lunch. Food was fantastic. Egg rolls are amazing. Food is fresh and came out promptly. It’s nice to see a mom and pop business that is successful and made it through Covid.
We live in Lakeland and have had many take out orders from the Peking House. Last evening ( Saturday) we were in the mood for Chicken Chow Mein. No problem ordering and our meal was ready when we picked it up, in fact, it just came from the kitchen when we arrived. Our dinner was hot when we got home,and that was the best part. There was a lot of sauce, and it was watery and had no taste. The white rice was overcooked, mushy and came out of the container in clumps. Instead of pieces of celery, there were yellow leaves from the celery tops ( I usually discard). The chicken had a strange texture, tough and translucent. I attempted to use one of the two packets of soy sauce that was provided and when I squeezed the packet a thin, long, string like substance came out of the packet. Overall, a horrible meal. I do not know if there is a different chef? or, a different manager? I have had the same meal before and was pleased. I am not sure I will try the Peking House again. Beware.
Wanted to find a SIT DOWN Chinese restaurant. Figured we would try this, although the reviews were mixed. There was only one couple seated when we got there. Menu was limited compared to take out places. Our friends got an order of Chicken Curry. She asked for MILD, as the choice was offered by the waitress. Her hubby got a whole Peking Duck. They also got pork dumplings and two egg rolls. Her curry was SO hot, she could barely eat it. The waitress never came over to ask how the food was. She took it home and threw it away. The duck was in small pieces. The skin was un-eatable. It was burnt to a horrible crisp. Even the small amount of meat on the duck was hard from over cooking. The duck was $33.00 My hubby got beef lo mein. It was very, very greasy. And if there was four tiny bits of meat, we were lucky. I got a dinner combo. The Egg Drop soup was slimy. I couldn’t swallow it. Disgusting. Then came the Sweet and Sour Chicken. The sauce was just ok. But the chicken, I think it was chicken, cause there was so little of it, I wasn’t sure. And the fried thin, batter was Soo crispy I could hardly bite into it. The egg roll was ok. Fried Rice was ok. I forgot to mention, our waitress. We got hot tea. Which wasn’t hot. I must have asked the waitress six times for Sweet and Low. She remembered as we were done eating. The restaurant was old, dingy, dark. We all said we would NEVER GO BACK.
This restaurant reminds my wife & I of being back up north. We have been here many times & this restaurant has never let us down, nice atmosphere and friendly staff best of all in my opinion some really good food.
Perfect: Food, service, price.
Where to begin, food was disgusting, the waitress needs some more tutoring, but the food was absolutely disgusting. I do not recommend. The price was NOT WORTH THE FOOD. FYI the restroom matched the food!!
