Great food with great service!
One of the BEST seafood restaurants in this area! The crab bisque is hands down the BEST I've ever had anywhere! The crab cakes were delicious too!! Fish & chips just perfect..light & flaky (not greasy like some other places). We will definitely be back to try other things on the menu. LOTS of yummy choices available & we highly recommend this to anyone looking for delicious seafood!

Spending the night in Lakeland, FL on the way to the Keys and our desk clerk at the hotel recommended Fish City Grill. Walking distance was a plus. So glad we came. My Mussels Tomato Basil was delicious. Yummy mussels with cherry tomatoes, lemon pepper butter and garlic. Served with a large slab of buttered French bread to help sop up that awesome sauce. Hubby had the fried shrimp, ( he's not as adventurous when it comes to food), didn't leave a morsel. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and if we lived locally, this place would definitely be a favorite. Kudos to Haley, our server, Great Job!
Gulf oysters, shrimp po boy and crab bisque .. never disappoints.
Packed house, and still seated within 25min!Calamari has great flavors for an appetizer and dipping sauces were on point.Fish Tacos were great with a bowl of clam chowder (packed full of potatoes and clams). The fish and chips was great but try the mashed potatoes, they were perfect. Ask for Dakota for a server if possible she rocks. We are stuffed!
Visited at 2 PM on a Friday. Plenty of tables open inside and out. We both ordered the half portion of fried catfish. The wife had the slaw and fries. I asked to subsitute hushpuppies for the slaw. Both came with fries & slaw. I mentioned the hushpuppies I had ordered & asked for ketchup for the fries. The hushpuppies came and I again asked for the ketchup. It came about half way thru the meal. We both had iced tea and shared a bread pudding for dessert. $48 with tax and 15% tip - couldn’t do 20 with the order problems, delay on ketchup and no offer to refill tea while dining. We were offered iced tea to go. We didn’t care for the very coarse breading on the fish - very coarse cornmeal and spices cooked a little too much so kind of like having your fish rolled in sand. We recognize this type of breading may be popular in other areas of U.S. but not our “cup of tea.”. The pink dip for the hushpuppies was more like 1000 island dressing than anything I’ve had elsewhere. The tartar sauce was odd as well -thin and runny. The high point was the dessert - great bread pudding & lots of it. I can’t imagine we will return. Was surprised they didn’t offer grouper and other native Florida fish - just catfish, tilapia, salmon & rainbow trout. Maybe it was an off day since this was rates as one of Lakeland’s top 10 restaurants.
Dinner was delicious. Shrimp and grits are better than most I've had elsewhere. Service was awesome, even at peak dinner hours. The spicy shrimp boil was a huge hit for the group and we will definitely visit again when we return to Lakeland. No one was unhappy walking out the door and was told the drinks were nice and strong too. 5/5, very solid pick.
