Ordered Beef & Chicken Encaladas and Fried Pork Dinner to go. I received shredded pork, when I told them I order fried pork the lady told me “that is the fried pork and she has worked there for 6 years and that’s what they served”. They really need to update their menu. The Beef Encalada was salty and the beans were watery (Well I wouldn’t call that beans or refried beans). Looked like dog food that my dog wouldn’t eat.
We start at the Tacos la Carbone off Congress Avenue in Lake Worth. It was in a strip mall with lots of parking in front. The restaurant was clean, old and festively decorated. There was a large menu and we ordered at the register in the back. Lunch for two was $15, they accepted Apple Pay. We sat at a booth and our lunch was brought to us in less than five minutes. The women working were friendly and helpful. Door Dash and many others picked up bags of food to go. I enjoyed my tacos, they contained lots of fresh cilantro, tomatoes, lettuce, onions with a wedge of lime. The green salsa was flavorful. My husband was disappointed with his nachos; the chips did not taste fresh nor did the beef.
DO NOT BOTHER EATING HERE!! Went to the location at 4420 Lake Worth Road to order two fajita combos. WAS NEVER ABLE TO PLACE MY ORDER. The woman at the window (Cindy) asked me what I wanted to order and then immediately turned to chat with her friends inside the kitchen area. These were not even employees as they were not wearing the black shirts. She asked me 4 times what I wanted to order, and each time, as soon as she asked and I started to place my order, she turned to chat with her friends. I finally just walked away and left. I've called and asked to speak with the manager/owner (Eloisa), but she's never there, and hasn't returned my calls. This business is being run to the ground. I found it odd when I arrived at Tacos al Carbon that there was not a line there during rush hour. Now I know why. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! There are many great Mexican restaurants on Lake Worth Road. Will never go back to this place. Not worth the wait.
Just great, in fact I'm on my way now to grab 3 more. At $2 each, you can't go wrong. And open 24/7!
I was looking forward to trying the tacos her but the menu was in Spanish and no one spoke English. I was hoping someone on the staff could help out but no one offered any assistance for a take out order so I ended up just having to leave. No one seemed to care about it so...
On an impromptu taco tour of the area - we discoverer this wonderful not-so-hidden gem. Delicious, fresh, quick made-to-order tacos served inside or to-go from a window. Loved our chicken and steak tacos, generously packed with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Perfect for a poolside picnic. We will definitely return soon!
order the tacos, shrimp, tacos, beef, and pork tacos. The best chicken and horchata water was delicious. This homemade real Mexican tacos are worth the visit. If am in the area will definitely come back. My food was $11.00
Small colorful place with Mexican music always playing. Old style diner hole in the wall. Attentive service. If you speak Spanish its much easier to order. Large menu with all kinds of meats. Very reasonable pricing. Skirt steak tacos were fantastic. Nachos not so much. Beef burrito was large and very tasty. Home made tortillas. Try their flavored water drinks.
It was good, was outside so it was cold and windy which isn't the restaurant's fault, the food was OK, not bad, but meh.
This is a walk-up food truck that serves delicious tacos, burritos, and other authentic specialties. Picnic tables available, along with fun music. Friendly staff to help the gringos.
