Worst experience ever! Charged me $0.99 for grilled onions (without letting me know in advance) and put raw onions on my burger anyway. Gave me burnt up little matchstick fries and the cheese was so melted and over cooked u could barely see it let alone taste it and when I called to let them know about these mishaps they wouldn't even answer the phone. Go to Wendy's or somewhere other than there!
I hate having to give this place even one star! The words customer service might as well be in Russian to them because they clearly have NO IDEA what those words mean! I went here last week and waited 8 minutes before they even said anything on the speaker. “Welcome to Steak N’ Shake what do you want “? Said the disgruntled night worker. I tried to order a shake, but somehow a place with the word shake in their name didn’t have a shake machine that works. And then proceeded to order a Frisco melt and chicken fingers and french fries. When I got to the window to pay they were quick to take my card but not so quick to bring me my food. I sat there for another 12 minutes while I watched them close up the restaurant instead of focusing on the customer. This was made painfully obvious when I received mine what some might call food I guess. I ordered the Frisco Melt and received a soggy grilled cheese with a burger patty that was obviously smashed by the hulk and slapped In the middle of two oversized pieces of what they try to call toasted bread. Then they cannot be bothered to cut the sandwich in half. Restaurants like this and employees like these are the reasons nobody takes it serious when fast food workers say they deserve more money.
I went to this steak and shake tonight and place my order thru the kiosk and the machine took the money. I notified the "manager" on duty and he came over to us and stated "ain't no why." He further stated the machine was working all day and he kept saying ain't no way. Another customer came in to use the same machine and the machine took his money also. The manager was implying we were lying and he did not believe we put the money in the machine because there was no way the machine took the money. After the second person money was taken by the machine I look at him and stated "ain't no way". I got my $20.00 and left guess who want be going back to that steak and shake.
I love this restaurant, or did. Now you have to order from a kiosk, pick up your food yourself and get your own drink. Claiming COVID caused this. I call BS! No longer fits the mold it was created from. If I wanted McDonald's I would have gone there.
Ordered food from Steak 'n Shake website and used their 'Free Delivery' option for orders over $15. Miscommunication left us with our burgers, but only half our shakes. DoorDash driver said it wasn't her problem and left. However, Blake made it right by driving them out to our house himself in his own car. As always, their food is delicious. We will be ordering from them again.
They were steak and shake I've ever been to. So very slow every single time I've been there. Do not go here find another place to eat
I always have been a fan from this place. But since they change, we'll who did it wasn't happy on the choices. It didn't make it easier nor to the operational function nor for the consumer. Sorry, revise your menu , train better your workers.
French fries were on the soggy side and too much salt. Hot dog was not cooked I think it was cut open put on grill for a few seconds and put on a broken bun. The skin side of hot dog was not cooked at all and cold. I understand the shortage of employees but you can't skimp on quality. Everyone seemed to be patient so there was no need to rush on the food. The pandemic has changed our norm fast food is no longer fast but quality is still important. Everyone needs to slow down calm down do your best and produce quality work.
It's Steak'n Shake, so the food is good, but corporate has ruined the whole concept. This is our first time back at a SnS since the pandemic began, so when we stopped in to this location, imagine our surprise when we find, there's no servers, ordering is all done through app and dirty kiosks. Nothing personal about the experience. Many of the meals we enjoyed before are gone, you can't mix shakes, and not to mention, absolutely no side by sides.SnS has always been iconic, no matter what town you went to, you knew what to expect. If this is the new SnS, my family and I won't visit often.Who do I leave a tip to?
Disgusting inside and out. Had to use an awkward computer interface to order my food. The bathroom was filled with graffiti. Food came out with unmelted cheese and they made zero effort to center the patties or cheese. Fries were less than an inch long making it impossible to dip without covering my fingers in sauce.
