When we lived in Florida steak and shake was one of our favorite 'fast food' places because of the side by side shakes.However they have cut back on the menu, and removed the side by side shakes. Despite the restaurant being empty, having staff that was so bored they were organizing and cleaning a prestine plastic-ware/drink station and a moderate amount of drive thru traffic, it took an exceptional amount of time for our order to get prepared. With the wait time I didn't expect cold fries, burgers where the party missed the bun and the bun and the tomatoes/lettuce missed the party and bun...The garlic burger, once assembled, was tasty, even if it was slightly on the cold side.The facilities were clean and spacious.
We stopped for a quick bite to eat. I left my wallet in the vehicle because I planned to pay with cash.Well, it was only kiosk ordering only. I had to get my friend to pay & then pay him back.I went to use the restroom & wash my hands. It wasn’t the cleanest by far, but tolerable.The food was the saving grace.It tasted fresh & the shake was real good !Google maps said it was “busier than normal”, but only 2 families were sitting down & no one was in line !?!If I lived here…I’m not sure I’d visit too often !?!?
This was a clean and comfortable place to eat at, this restaurant satisfied me with a nice cooked burger and strawberry milkshake. I was amazed with the new system to order yourself a meal with no complicated problem at all. This was a perfect experience at a steak n shake especially being modernized, when you need to stop somewhere to eat and enjoy yourself.
The employees are absolutely amazing and all deserving of a pay increase. 3 people working in the back and 1 cook, who even took the time to ask us how our food was. Everyone working here had a system and ALL did WONDERFUL!!!!
Shake was good but the burger was horrible and fries had no salt. The burger had a drop of ketchup and half a pickle.and I got 1 patty instead of 2 I have had gas station burgers that tasted better
Before today I would’ve given the restaurant a 4.5 star. I’ve always enjoyed their friendly staff, and good food. I asked for well-done french fries I got well-done french fries. When I ordered the garlic steak burger it was always so juicy it would run down my arms. And it seems like it was a real burger. This time when I ordered the garlic steak burger it was dry, the bun was so stuck to the cheese that I couldn’t get the bun off and the burger was so thin it was breaking apart like it had been chopped into little pieces and then reformed to look like a burger. This has never happened before. The french fries were not well done they weren’t even slightly medium well. When I ordered my drink, which was a lemonade that I always order, it was bland very little lemon flavor. Now I have ordered that lemonade 6-7-8 times and it was always good so I gave it back and I said that the flavoring needed to be refilled. I’ve been in the business and know when you’re running out of syrup. The owner came back and Told me that he could only have the flavoring adjusted so high, otherwise Coke would be mad and make them go with Pepsi product. Huh? So overall the meal itself was not very good, the owners attitude was condescending. He did return two dollars to me for the drink because I didn’t want anything else except the lemonade, which was very good but it felt forced on his end. I was not happy to be schmoozed about the lemonade. The flavoring needed to be replaced. It had nothing to do with the amount of lemonade flavoring that was allowed to go into the water it had to do with the fact that the flavoring was running out. The fries were so undercooked from my well done preference they were inedible. The burger was horrible. The manager should go home and let the friendly, efficient staff do their job. If they have quit I understand why based on my interaction with the manager. If this is a result of cutting corners I won’t be going back. I I’ll give it one more try another day and hopefully it will be back to normal.
They ruined the restaurant when they did away with the waitresses. No one greeted us. The tables were mostly dirty. It was hard to find a clean one. We will never eat there again.
I met with the manager Brandon today amd was very impressed. The place was clean, food is always great and a fun atmosphere.
Stopped here on the way home. The staff was super friendly and the food was good. They had picnic tables where we could sit and eat. The only downfall was the parking lot was a bit trashy.
