Driving with the family from the Midwest to Miami and stopped here in the evening because the kids were hungry. Nothing but problems in the entire area for us but I'll focus on this Denny's as that's what the review is for.From the moment we stepped up to the door, we had issues. The older woman seated inside stared at us with disgust and shook her head as we approached. The older couple leaving as we entered the door rudely shoved past us.We waited for about 5 minutes to be greeted. There was a total of 3 people in the restaurant so it was not busy at all. Finally, a waitress came and seated us. This was not our server as she said the server would be with us shortly. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to come over but they didn't. Two men came in about 10 minutes after we sat down and had drinks within minutes. We were completely ignored so we decided to get up and leave as we were no longer comfortable being there. On the way out, we were once again ignored by our "waitress" so my wife said looked at her and said, "I guess you aren't serving anymore tonight?"I clearly understood what this was and if you look anything like us, you already know as well. If you aren't... "the right type of clientele"... steer clear of this place and the area in general. Gas stations were no better in this city as we were told we needed to come inside to pay when everyone else was paying at the pump.
Nightmare for a restaurant! Had them check for products before ordering batter was old and cook doesn't want or know how to make it. Then my food comes out without sauce because it's frozen. Been here over two hours!!! Management needs to get control of their store. I'm not coming back ever!!! The waitress tried making it better and tried so hard to make it better.
Not only does this place smell dirty but I was pretty much ignored upon walking in and waiting for a table. They weren't busy.. severely understaffed most likely but seeing as there was only like four patrons there I think one or two waitresses would suffice I don't know sad thing for her is if she would have been more inclined to do her job rather than complain and ignore me she was going to get a pretty nice tip if the food was even halfway decent because I always tip well but This place will not be getting my business somebody needs to send the health department there and figure out what the heck that smell is.
Had a wonderful meal at Denny's and the waitress was very friendly and attentive to my needs. The one gripe I had was when I was paying my bill I wanted to leave no tip; a screen you go through in the payment process, because I left cash on the table. The machine declined my payment 3 times until left a tip in the system. No need, I can leave cash. If a server deserves a tip I'll put in their ✋️
Stopped here with our young family on our cross country road trip. Noticed a woman in maybe her late 50s or so sitting inside and giving us the stink eye through the window as we walked in, but we laughed it off and figured with our luck we'd be seated by here. When we walked in she had stood up and was checking the tonsils of her older man friend with her tongue and to the point that I felt borderline uncomfortable watching the spectacle. Super weird and awkward.Anyway, someone working told us that we could sit anywhere so we did. I wanted to be delighted with the place because it seemed like it would be charming with the diner theme. But the place was disgusting and filthy. There was black grime on the edges of all the tables and everything felt sticky.While we waited, Tongues McGee and her man had made their way to the front and proceeded to talk to the people working there. It seemed like Tongues also worked there based on overheard conversation.Well no one ever came over to greet us or take or order or anything despite us being the only people attempting to done there. After waiting for forever we just got up and left to try to find a different place to feed our hungry kids.It was a super weird experience, honestly.
Amazing, quality lunch! Love the extensive menu. Such a happy place with all the girls and guys taking care of their customers.Kudos to Denny’s in Lake CityA wonderful experience!
Fabulous service and great food! We created our own grand slam and omelette so had exactly what we wanted. Our waitress even gave us To Go coffees. Perfect start to our day!
If I could give this place no stars I would. We live here in town, we have given them numerous opportunities to do better, they never have the food on the menu, service is horrible, and they literally laugh about it. Just awful. As convenient as it is, go across the road to Bob Evans
The waitress and cook had the whole place up and running with no heat in 19°weather ( unusual for Florida). That's what you call Great customer service!!! And most places would have just stayed closed now-in-day's.
Definitely impressed!!! I'm staying at hotel across the street and put my order in to took less then 20 min to be ready. Food was hot fresh and very delicious!!! For 4.99 you can't beat this.
