Today was suppose to start off with the most magical morning celebrating our youngest daughters birthday. After reading and watching so many reviews we were so excited when we managed to snag a reservation for breakfast here! This mornings visit has literally broken me, I have tried to stay positive all day but it has totally burst my bubble and put a grey cloud over our whole day! We booked a 12noon sitting so appreciate we were probably one of the last tables after a busy morning but we are still paying the same as everybody else and expect the same level of service especially at what is suppose to be one of WDW top restaurants!!! We have had better service at a value resort food court!! The welcome... didn't really happen, we had a kind but quiet and somewhat nervous lady show us to our table and tell us to Swipe the QR Code for the menu. Our server then came over and introduced herself, being friendly my husband asked how she was ... "pause.. exhausted, rushed off my feet and just urgh... we were so taken back we didnt know quite what to say and anything we then asked for we were worried would be a hassle after her busy morning! She then got us some pog juice which was probably the best thing about the service and carried on with her other tables. We were struggling to get the menu to load and with no help in sight I managed to find it within the app. I was trying to look to our server for help but none was given. We placed our order with minimal communication. I asked if my daughter could have scrambled eggs with her meal as it was not listed to be told in the most abrupt tone have what you want you've got to eat it not me. I did want to ask about the frittata as had heard a lot of good things about it but by that point I was too scared to ask further questions about the menu I just said that's it and we were done. I also did not want to cause any commotion infront of my children especially on a bday celebration but if they had not been there I would have gotten up and left by now! My daughter was wearing her bday button with pride (we also noted on the booking at check in that we were celebrating a birthday) not once did our server wish her happy birthday instead just made comments about how the earrings she was wearing must really hurt her ears and how her nan or mum use to force her to wear clip ons! Firsty, it was her choice, secondly, if you have nothing nice to say maybe don't speak at all. Character looked great and we got photos with them all but was very rushed through, did one lap of the restaurant and were gone. The time we did have with them was great but from previous experiences we have seen them a couple of times throughout the meal so had I realised that was the only opportunity I would have made more of it. Food arrived, it looked great but sadly did not live up to expectations on my end. I had ordered the steak but could not cut it with my butter knife. I told the others to start eating their food whilst I tried to search for someone to get me a sharper knife! I think I asked a Character support cast member in the end and although she clearly had no clue she didn't say no and found me one so thank you for that. By this point my food was cold but I love steak so didn't mind too much however it was sooo chewy and bland. My husband managed to catch our servers eye to ask for some water for the table and salt (to hopefully add flavour to my steak!). Not once did anyone ask how our meal was! In the end I just left my food as it wasn't the greatest and I had had enough. Even when the server took our plates away and could see I had left majority of my meal on the plate no questions around food quality, did we enjoy our meal was asked! Really not the service you expect from a fine dining location, we save this trip for the end of our holiday to go out on a high in turn it has done the opposite effect and quite frankly ruined my day. I did speak to the on duty manager whilst my daughters were looking at the view on the terrace. He did listen and apologised for the dis
We didn’t wait at all. Our table was ready rt after we checked ourselves in on the ap. It took quite a while to get our food. Food was ok. Potatoes and steak were pretty salty. Bread pudding is not good at all-def do not get it. Took a long time to get water. Thought it was strange they would not give us a to-go box. Characters were pretty good.
Excellent family friendly experience with excellent service, food and atmosphere. Nice terrace. Highly recommended.
Excellent service, delicious gourmet food. Excellent in every way!
Just took the family to this place. Never again. Apparently, one of the characters didn't approve of our jocularity. She left shaking her head and went into the server's staging area. Our waitress Kristin then brought a glass of water to one of our party. After drinking some, he noticed a foul smell coming from the water, an odor that was not present in anyone else's water. He brought it up to Kristin, who refused to smell the water. In this day of pandemics that is not surprising. However, she seemed a little amused when she asked him if he'd been drinking from it, then hurriedly brought him another glass (despite him declining) and then whisked the offending water away. We'd passed it around before then and it smelled like a fish tank that isn't clean. The recipient suspected it may have been laced with urine. This behavior is beyond unprofessional, it's abhorrent and disgusting and Disney should be ashamed.
Wonderful experience. Food was excellent as was the service. Christopher our server could not have been better
This new restaurant at the Riviera Resort sits on the roof terrace and has amazing views over Disney world. We enjoyed cocktails in their bar before moving to our table. The restaurant is bright and the decor is attractive. Tables are spaced nicely too. We chose to share an appetiser and then we had lobster linguine and our son the scallops. The food was very good quality but portions were rather small, leaving the men feeling hungry. My problem was the prices, at $50 for a small main with no sides, it’s just not good value for money. This would be a fine dining price like the Flying Fish, but Topolino’s just is no where near this standard. The service also let the restaurant down too, our waitress cleared the plates and asked if we’d like dessert whilst my wife was clearly still eating her main course!! She also didn’t clear the starter plates away before our mains arrived and so we had no space for them. Overall we did enjoy our evening in a great location and good quality food but far too expensive for what we received.
Fabulous place! Don’t take my word on it, try it! It will not disappoint! Staff good atmosphere and food was amazing!
Such a yummy place for breakfast! I had Mickey waffles and they were so fluffy plus all of the syrups were delicious. This resort has such an amazing view especially when you go out on the terrace at Topolino’s. The characters are so amazing as well, Donald was definitely our favorite!
I loved the characters, the pastries and the terrace. My Daughter and I had the Sour Cream waffles which were not good. My side dish was the quiche. This was also not good. My Husband had the bagels and lochs (misspelled.) He said that his food was good. His side was the steak. I ended up eating his steak because he got sick from the bagel or the salmon on the bagel and couldn’t eat the steak. The steak was the second best thing that I ate besides the pastries. The waitress wasn’t the friendliest either. Anyway, I was excited to get this reservation because it’s very hard to get and I heard nothing, but great things about the experience, but I was underwhelmed. I so wanted to enjoy it too. There was POG juice there which was a plus.
