Ingredient quality was very good for the price points and it was prepared and presented in a compelling way; but dinner took exceptionally long. 2 hours and change in and out for appetizers and entrees no dessert. Server was pleasant and attentive.Bar service was agreeable.

We’ve been visiting Jiko since 2005. The food and service are Exceptional. We’ve enjoyed every bite—don’t let the unique menu scare you off! This is upscale amazement for all.Tonight we had scallops with something something and hot peanuts. Who would have thought. Amazing. Then it was on to the butternut squash bisque. This has been on the menu for ages but every time it’s served in a unique way. This time we enjoyed it on a bed of roasted pumpkin seeds and a Parmesan cheese crisp. Next was the filet. Omg. How did they make the salt go all the way through? Magical. Four cheese Mac on the side. Also some pickled cherry tomatoes. Amazing. Even the bread was amazing. Wine——-the Lady May was bonkers good.Go here. You won’t be disappointed. Ask for Phillip! I hope we get to dine with him again soon—great guy, rolled with the jokes and had a fun evening with him. Thanks Phillip! Don’t wrassle any gators!

Hands down the best meal I’ve eaten at Disney. The food was cooked perfectly, the drinks were delicious and our server was excellent. Run, don’t walk to this restaurant. Will absolutely be back.

We came back to the resort earlier than planned on one of our park days, so we decided to eat dinner there instead of in the parks. I saw the app had a 30 minute waitlist, so we headed down to put our names on the list (we were staying at Kidani, and the app determined we were too far away to check-in). When we got to the restaurant, we were told there were too many people on the waitlist, but we could eat at one of the bar tables which are first-come first-served. We didn't have to wait long for a bar table, so that was perfect for us. Our servers were Brian and Brian, and while we initially thought they didn't want to be bothered with serving us, they ended up being two of the best servers. Sadly, they were out of lamb, which is what my husband really wanted. We both ended up ordering the Heritage Chicken with Bobotie mac and cheese as a side. My husband wasn't happy with his chicken (he didn't discover the amazing sauce under the chicken/grains until the very end of his meal, sad), but I seriously loved it. It had great flavors, and I felt it was cooked perfectly. The Bobotie mac and cheese, though, was phenomenal. I'd be more than happy to continue going to Jiko over and over to try everything. I'm glad we were able to experience this restaurant even without planning ahead of time. Well worth the amazing stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, and you should make the trip to Jiko no matter where you are staying.

Bit less casual than some other Disney dining options but worth it for the quality of the food it's worth the trip. The filet was excellent, such good accompanying contents.

I was a bit disappointed with our dinner as I’d heard such great things and had been looking forward to it. My husband and I split the fish (grouper) and the injera basket, and while the fish was quite good the injera basket was less than stellar. The injera was cold, the lentils tasted like little more than mashed starch, and the 2 other stews (mushrooms and a kale/greens blend), while at least seasoned, weren’t especially flavorful either. I’ve enjoyed the vegetarian options at Boma immensely and expected at least similar from such a highly lauded restaurant. If you’re vegetarian or vegan I’d skip this one. Of note: don’t stress too much about the dress code, we saw lots of people there that seemed to come straight from the park (shorts, tennis shoes, etc). I wouldn’t wear pool clothes or anything but it doesn’t have to be super fancy.

I arrived at Jiko’s with 15 members of my family for dinner. Usually one of our favourites in Disney. While waiting on our table, i went to the bar to order some drinks. The bar was busy with people eating, as there were no tables available in the lounge. I waited my turn to be served. As i stood waiting, thinking about what wine we wanted. I was greeted with a woman called Lo saying ‘hello’, i replied asking ‘could i see you wine list, please. She repeated ‘hello’ but in a loud, abrupt voice. It took me a second to process. She seemed to be very annoyed that i never said hello. I simply thought her initial greet, was her letting me know she was there to help me, never for a minute did i try to be rude. She was very angry and doing a-lot of eye rolling, i said i was sorry for upsetting her. She gave me at telling off. Seems this person has a serious chip on her shoulder and maybe does not like the idea of serving people, there is simply no other excuse for her behaviour. She caused a scene and made the whole bar uneasy due to her insecurities. Maybe she should work in a more behind the scenes role, as her aggressive manner certainly does not represent Disney well!! This left a really uneasy feeling. Thank god, she was not our waiter for dinner or we would have left.

One of the best meals we ever had!!! We heard great things about it but were blown away by all the different flavors. Their giraffe bread and butter was so yummy!!We had the scallop appetizer and it was delicious! We both had the filet mignon with Mac and cheese. Omg it was one of the best filets we ever had. The max and cheese was terrific and we got the extra side of Mac and cheese , which was totally different from the one with the filet. Wow! We ate it all! Amazing flavors!

I had such a lovely time at Jiko with my family! The service, decor, and food was excellent as one would expect from a place that is consistently rated one of the best Disney restaurants. As for specific recommendations I would highly recommend the Wild Boar and the Duck Confit Flatbread appetizers. Both were incredible and really set the tone for the meals. Now for the entrees; the Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly, tasted great, and came with a side of fancy Mac and Cheese which is hard to beat. My parents had the Lamb Shank and the meat was so tender it fell right off the bone.I loved it here and I know I’ll be back. It’s obviously expensive, but if you want to have a really nice dinner I would say give this place a shot.

Wow. Amazing service. Brad was so personable and gracious when we asked him to take a picture of us. GP the manager had outstanding recommendations for the wine. His explanations were fabulous. Chelsea was an excellent server! The food was unbelievable. The unique combinations and blends of spices and textures was incredible. We had the Mac&Cheese side, Fish, and Short Ribs. The kids had fish and steak. The African Shield dessert for the kids was perfect and how fun for them to paint their designs with frosting! Wish we had booked this place more than once during our stay. Will definitely be back to try more!
