This was BEYOND the best seafood I have ever had. The cash upfront stipulation is understandable considering the care and freshness of the food. I would eat here for breakfast lunch and dinner if possible. A must visit if you’re in the area.
UPDATE (following owner's comment): Nice try! Not only am i not a troll or competitor, I'm a LEGITIMATE Google Local Guide/Reviewer that visited your restaurant merely a few WEEKS ago! I haven't the time or energy to manufacture bull*ish! It's obvious that you handle constructive criticism poorly! Your snarky and dishonest comment makes me wish i hadn't written my original post with diplomacy...but BRUTAL honesty! The purpose of these reviews is to share with/alert others of an experience so that they can make an intelligent decision about where they choose to dine! Your response is the one that's not only full of lies, but a bold indicator of your character! And now that you have in black-and-white what your gratuity policy is, i will be contacting you for a FULL REFUND! I'm not saying that all those positive reviews are fake, but i am giving them the side-eye.....ORIGINAL POST: On the one hand it kinda pains me to have to rate poorly as their setup and presentation are so well done. When you make a reservation (which is mandatory), upon arrival, you almost feel like a VIP. That is, until you're seated and the menu is presented to you. The only reason i didn't leave IMMEDIATELY is because.....now that i think about it, i don't know why i didn't! Especially after learning that those ridiculous high prices DID NOT include your standard food items usually included in a seafood boil bag! There are NO boiled eggs or sausages! There's not even an option for various flavored sauces. The standard sauce is an unusual Thai sauce. My daughter and SIL (son-in-law) tried to pretend they were enjoying the food since i was paying for it and they realized how expensive it was, but midway through they couldn't fake it any more! My SIL had become visibly queasy! I also realized no one wanted to be the first to say that the food was not enjoyable. So, i helped them out and asked for the bill. I'm not sure if i was more offended at the total amount (almost $400) or the automatic gratuity included at 25% to 30%!!! ? I bout had to be resuscitated!!! We were only a party of THREE (3)!!! In my sixty plus years of living, I've NEVER had such an experience....even with a dinner party 2 - 3 times our size! One thing's for certain and two thing's for sure.....not only will i never darken the doors of J Crab House again, i will NEVER allow any business to take advantage of me like that again! Altho the gentleman was very mannerable, i felt (and feel) violated!
Fabulous food and service! We ate here last year and returned this year. Did not disappoint! Food was perfectly cooked and sauce was fantastic! I used website to book reservation. Received an email confirmation. Arrived at restaurant And rang bell out front. Everything was ready to go for us. Very organized process. I saw a review about frustration with communication. I will share my thoughts. This is a mother and son (2 person) operation. They have an easy to follow reservation only process that allows them to focus on quality of food and service. Embrace it! You won’t be sorry! Ps. I believe they do offer to go and outside dining without a reservation.
The Food at JCrab House was unforgettable. It was delicious. Amazing family run Business, Mother and son Owners. Will recommend to anyone.

First off let me say I love the food here. It pains me to leave a review for a non chain restaurant like this but the owners of this restaurant refuse to inform their”guests” of hours of operation and it’s charming the way they yell at you on their menu to a certain point. This establishment makes it feel like they are the ones who are PAINED to be serving you. Food is good but menu serves it with a mocking look and a restrictive gaze. Do NOT try to contact the restaurant directly. They do not have an option to call the establishment. The recording also makes you feel lesser for even calling. I understand being a mom and pop shop but this place almost ridicules people. Stay away go somewhere your business is appreciated. The way this place treats people they think they can lose customers left and right and have no I’ll effect.
Definitely love this restaurant, glad I know how to read their hours online on Google. It made it easier for us to plan our vacation and make reservations. Their menu is amazing, direct with a great sense of humor, I work in the food industry and wished all restaurants presented their menu this way. Their automated phone system is pretty great it answers the basics since I've eaten here 15 times this past year I personally know that it really is just a mom and son working and impossible for them to get to their phone cause they are making sure their guests who made reservations online recieves the full dine in experience. Glad they adapted and found ways to inform guests on the how 2s. I feel bad for those who don't take the time to Read... this family restaurant works hard. I wanted to speak my mind cause some reviewers on here doesn't seem to understand he concept of online hours and why some establishments need to find tools to help them.
Great Food! Wonderful service! We would definitely recommend this small family-owned restaurant if you are in the mood for seafood. Remember to make a reservation. Absolutely loved it! We will definitely be back.

Amazing! Stumbled upon this place while visiting from out of town and thankfully the get us in without a reservation and at the end of the night. We are so glad they did cause the food was absolutely amazing!!! My husband isn’t a seafood guy but loved this place!! He couldn’t stop talking about it!
