The accommodations were excellent, everything was clean and the amenities were great. The pool area and bars/restaurants were all enjoyable. Beautiful resort in general. The golf courses are also decent. However, the service at the front desk is slow. Also, the shuttle service can be unreliable at times. Lastly, they try and loop you into the timeshare program with promises of free gifts and discounted golf as you check in. The sales representative was not upfront about what he was trying to get me to do, and his manager was even more aggressive. I did not appreciate this trying to check in for my vacation only an hour getting off my flight. Still had a great trip, but this definitely turned me off.
We always have a great time at any of the HIC resorts we go to. The workers are friendly and helpful and the resort amenities are great! The Orange Lake Properties were even better then any we've been to before and I recommend them wholeheartedly. Our two bedroom apartment (it really can't be called anything else but that) was beautiful and, as always, well equipped. The pool area was beautiful and the lazy river was great. Also, we got to look at some of the other pools in the complex (and you can go to any of them on your own or by shuttle) & they looked amazing as well. It really was a great vacation and we will be back again soon!
Very quiet and peaceful. Resort is kept clean and there’s so much to do and enjoy with the kids. I love that we had our own private patio which we could access from the living room and master bedroom. Only thing that I was nit picky about were the sliding doors. They’re a little flimsy. But other than that, you get everything you need in the 2 bedroom apartments. Definitely would come back! Almost wish we had more time to spend and enjoy on the actual resort. Majority of our time was spent at Disney/Universal. We stayed here for 10 days. I really don’t have any complaints. We had everything we needed here.
Orange Lake was SUCH an amazing place to stay. Super close to Disney and more restaurants than I could count. The staff was so helpful and kind. The main building has a gorgeous atrium inside. Restaurants had good food (drinks are very expensive though!) And the amount of areas to do things was mind-blowing. Five or six areas with different pools for the kids, a playground in one spot. Arcades in multiple areas. There's even a room for young kids that's open all day with toys and activities. They have activities for adults during the day and night too! Trivia, bingo, you name it. I could take a vacation and never leave the property! Condos were clean and well kept. Navigation was a bit confusing at first, but we got the hang of it. We definitely plan on returning!
Came off of a cruise and asked for early check in. This was around 10am, I was told they would call me when my room is ready and that they'll try to have it done quickly. To be fair, their policy is 4pm check in time. I went to the front desk at 130pm and they told me it wasn't ready yet again. I ended up spending the whole day by the pool and still no call. At around 430, I decided to go back to the front desk, only for them to then give me my room number so I could get into my room. No consideration and no call that the room was ready beforehand. The one bedroom villa was nice and clean. No complaints regarding the rooms or property, just customer service.
The first hour of my time at this resort would have garnered 2 stars…the whole “tour the property sales pitch” thing was pushed way too much. But after the first hour—roughly 96 hours— my stay was a solid 5 stars. There is so much to do while there that I will have to go back 3 more times just to experience all of it. The room was clean, comfy, and had everything I needed. Laundry machines were complimentary. And the staff…easily the best part. There are at least 11 or 12 staff members about whom I said in the moment, “I wish they worked for me.”
I had a great stay at the resort with my family. We have a double bed room, and also one of the larger rooms rooms with two rooms suite style. I found everything to be clean and everyone was helpful. The resort was huge and fun to explore. The rooms were clean contained many supples.. The pools were a great way to unwind after a long day at universal or Disney. The bars had great drinks and karaoke or dj’s. The staff was friendly and courteous. They have a security guard at the front and a 24 hour security on-site. There’s ways to get big discounts if you sit in on a time share meeting. There are many cool activities around the resort, but I did not play any of the ball or water sports. The grounds were well maintained. I honestly don’t have a complaint. Would come back and would recommend.
Wonderful resort close to the parks. Although, there is so much to do here that you may not want to leave! With shuttles running between Island River and West Village, you can easily access all the amenities this place has to offer! Pools are wonderful and warm! Rock climbing wall is a great perk! Mini golf is always a fun time! A few arcades for when you want a break from the sun, and all of the restaurants have pretty good food! Really, I do not have any complaints. We had a great time!
Our vacation was very nice and the place itself was also very nice. The front desk folks were good, but the check in guy lied to me and said it was a 90 minute no pressure sales pitch to get vouchers to spend on the property. They ended up holding us hostage for 3 hours at that sales pitch. They picked me and my mom up on a golf cart and drove us to the other side of the resort and ultimately after saying "no", they left me and my 84 year old mother wondering around not knowing how to get out. I had to call my son in law to pick us up. I asked the person there where do I redeem my vouchers and she so snidely and rudely said around the corner under the 'awning'. We never found such a place and then asked the bus driver (who shuttles guests around the resort) and he nicely guided us where to go. The cleaning staff were nice, the fake Starbucks at lazy river staff were totally useless, I was standing there for 3 minutes and they knew I was there and weren't busy at all and finally asked "if I need help with something". I felt like if I wasn't a 'member' of the joint, I was not welcome there. Being an RCI member for years - there is no reason to buy there, i can trade anywhere. I doubt highly I'll be coming back to this resort as there are so many more to explore in the area.
We stayed here for 6 days and in those six days we thought everything was pretty okay. As many other posters said the decor is quite dated. They could really use a better system for calling the front desk. A number of times I tried to call and was on hold for 20 minutes . When I hung up and went down there to talk to them there was nobody in line so I'm not sure why I was on hold. The pool area is pretty nice but the restaurant could definitely use some work. The front desk told me the price line price I got for this place was amazing because they "usually charge $500 a night" which I wouldn't pay to stay here in a million years. It's definitely a $110 to $150 a night type place. As other posters mentioned as well, you do have to pay extra for everything but the pool. Overall, for our next Disney trip I will likely stay at a different resort, our trip wasn't bad but we prefer a higher end resort. Checking in at 9:00 p.m. and getting a sales pitch for timeshares Wasn't ideal as we were exhausted and just wanted to get our keys and go. And having to wait for the shuttle to travel 10 minutes to get you the other side of the resort for pizza or something isn't ideal either. Just my two cents.
