1st time to El Borrego but it won't be my last, great food, drinks bit overall the service was excellent. Keep up the good work guys. I will visit again soon.
Foodies, please be aware of the scam you may or may not encounter. The food here was decent, mediocre.. hence it’s in Old Town where you’ll get mostly tourist.. Our server was the “owner” apparently who was really nice, our food came out in a timely manner and the alcoholic beverages weren’t to bad either.. However, as we are checking out, something seemed way to sketchy!!! He quickly showed me my tab (party of three paying separately) with the supposed to be total. I scanned my debit and was not allowed an option to add tip as he manually skipped it.. as I’m asking him where’s the area to tip, he’s literally avoiding the question and walks away.. I’m adding the total as it didn’t seem right, and finally called him back over to the table.. come to find out, which he seemed surprised “THAT AN 18% GETS ADDED TO YOUR TAB WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT”.. first off he did provide anyone in our party an option to tip, no mention anywhere of an automatic 18% added to your bill.. and honestly I feel completely robbed of my money and lied too.. As I’m explaining that it would be next for next time to give people a heads up of this nature, I asked would his MANAGER ATTEST THIS STATEMENT IS TRUE, he replies back that HE IS THE MANAGER AND OWNER.. Who runs a business like that!! So, I’m 10000% sure that people are getting charged a percentage and leaving additional tip for this restaurant.. I would not recommend this place at all to anyone that I know.. and check this.. no one got a receipt.. absolutely bizarre!!!
Brilliant food and atmosphere. Our server was attentive, polite and very kind in his demeanour. Very understanding if the needs of a very picky 6 year old - a quesadilla with cheese and NOTHING. Else! ??. Margaritas are delicious too ??
Cute delicious authentic Mexican restaurant. We had 4 different plates and everything was awesome. The service team is fast and really attentive. Handsome server.
Very bright and colorful . I absolutely love this place . The owner is very involved in the restaurant and shows his passion for his food . We ordered elotes , quesadilla de birria , guacamole & queso fundido , and lastly tacos de cochinita pibil . All the food was outstandingly amazing ! Highly recommend this restaurant to any and everyone ! We will be back every time we visit Florida .
We had a reservation at this restaurant but when we turned up they couldn’t accommodate us. The staff were rude beyond belief and couldn’t care less.
We live on the other side of Orlando and still try to make our way to El Borrego as often as we can. The service and the food are both excellent. Casual , friendly and good food. If your in the Old Town area give it a try , you won't be disappointed.
Service was awesome but food was not that good. It did not taste like Mexican food. I order tacos and I never receive the sauce for my tacos.
Went here for a meal with family. We are vegetarian and asked for vegetable fagitas. They came out with everything we didnt ask for. My grandma had the fish tacos. There were three shells that were hard and tasted bland. The girl who was bringing the food out was clueless and didnt know what was going on which was embarrassing. Came to nearly $80 for 4 of us. Absolute rip off. Save your money and dont come here. Would leave 0 stars if i could.
Visiting El Borrego on my trip to Florida I had hoped to taste some authentic Mexican Cuisine, unfortunately that was not what I received. The seating is minimal indoors with sufficient outdoor seating. Our server was very kind to us. Our appetizer was queso and chips which was serviceable nothing above average. Most of the people at our table ordered burritos and most of us had some issue. The burritos were not great the beef was the best part personally the rice was the worst of it. It is clear that the rice at the very least is not authentic and store bought with minimal seasoning added I was severely disappointed. The food all together was mostly bland and expensive I can only give it 2 stars because our service was good at least the food was edible. But that's the best I can say for El Borrego
