6 stars. Chef Richard is amazing and his food is superb. My wife and I randomly ran into his wife walking and she suggested to give it a try. Reservations only and cash only, so be prepared. We had the scallops and ceviche for apps and it was perfect. Our entree was a trio of fish, scallops and jumbo shrimp and it was the perfect balance of flavor. If you’re in key west and want something unique and a true foodie experience then come here. My picture doesn’t do this justice because my lighting was off but trust me, it’s the best I’ve had.
Lola’s is superb. Small and quaint with great ambiance watching chef cook. Food is amazing. Freshness and taste is second to none. It’s a must visit while in Key West.
OUTSTANDING!! OUTSTANDING!! OUTSTANDING!! Only way to describe my recent experience at Chef Richie’s Lola’s Bistro. Incredible dinner with amazing sauces. Everything was great from start to finish. Will definitely eat here again. Two seatings 6:00 & 8:00. It’s BYOB. Best meal I’ve had in a long time. This place is a home run. Make sure to call ahead for reservations.
Was pointed here on my last visit to Key West and it was love at first site. Located on Simonton St not far from where we stay at the Marquesa Hotel. I've been coming to KW for 20+ years and am ecstatic a friend told me about this very unassuming place. It is simply the best place to dine in Key West! No exaggeration. They offer two seatings, at 6pm and 8pm. They can seat a little over 20 people per seating so be sure to make reservations well ahead of time. Another feature we like is that is it bring your own wine. They do not serve alcohol but encourage you to bring your own. There's a wonderful KW wine shop on Eaton Street to pick a fantastic bottle or two for your group. Now to the food..... simply amazing. The menu virtually changes every day, but don't worry. Ample choices for appetizers, entrees. and desserts. If there is any criticism it's that the serving sizes are too large. It was impossible to finish anything, which is soooo hard to do because it's all so delicious. The chef works alone in the kitchen in the corner of the room and is a whirlwind of activity. Miraculous the courses keep coming with virtually no delay. Go!!! You will come back to this post to thank me, I promise!
Combines the best of fine dining with the casual comfort of Key West. Intimate setting with only about 10 tables—we had the table right across from the chef so we could watch him work his magic. The two servers handled everything well and made the whole experience even better. The inconvenience of having to byob and pay with cash or check is completely overshadowed by the quality of the fare.
Went with friends, two of us got the filet. It was so tough, no vegetable, just meat covered in brown gravy. I thought I was at a diner.
Lola’s when originally opened was a great find, however we have dined twice in the last year and have seen a degradation in quality along with a massive increase in price. We spend $180 on two apps and 2 entrees with no desert or no alcohol. Actually felt ripped off and we left. When the waitress/owner? Saw my girlfriends plate untouched, literally untouched she never commented. It was 100:% obvious the food was not being eaten and the waitress did not care. In 10 years of visiting key west this was a horrible dining experience and grossly overpriced. Appetizers were $24 each and dinners were $50 each. My God $180 and we had no drinks, no dessert and a poor tasting meal. I will avoid Lola’s for the rest of my life- 2 horrible and expensive meals poorly cooked and service was without concern.They simply didn’t care so I take the time here to warn others since they couldn’t see we were very unhappy with the entrees. Apps were good but not worth $25 each. This is a restaurant on the decline
We were a group of 14 and Chef Richard accomadated us perfectly. Everyones food was perfectly prepared and was wonderful. If the great food isnt enough to get you to try Lola's watching Chef Richard prepare the food is amazing ... he does A LOT with a small space! Great atmosphere and great food! Make sure you make a reservation for Lola's! Thanks Chef ... we will be back!
This is a really great place! Four of us for supper. Everybody ordered something different so we might try more. My Wife being a land lover ordered the steak and He cooked it in a press. It was perfect! To a person,everyone loved their meal. Small place,BYOB, and cash only. It’s expensive but we’ll worth it. Pay no attention to some of these Dumbass outlier review’s . This Restaurant is awesome!
Truly one of the BEST restaurants I have ever been to!!! You feel you are a guest in the chef/owners home! Very intimate setting with romantic cool lighting and the best cuisine that changes daily per the chefs delight. Best pecan pie EVER, BUT ACTUALLY ALL WAS BEST EVER!!! I would come back to Key West just to experience this restaurant again! BYOB - and come to a dinner party with dear friends!!!
