The seafood stew was to die for! Totally awesome

One dish was good, the other most definitely not. Requested lightly cooked mixed seafood grill but everything was well done and overcooked and tough, while the fries were cold. How does that happen?
After we visited the lighthouse, we drove across the canal to eat. There are numerous places to eat but we chose Schooners. We arrived after 3:30 pm and were seated after about 10 minutes. We both had the beer batter gulf shrimp. I enjoyed the shrimp the service was great and the restaurant was clean.
Went on a first date with a nice gentleman who suggested this place. Diane, our waitress, was attentive. The food was delicious... chef Louis salad... fresh, with just the right amount of mayo. The atmosphere was relaxed - as was the date!
Sat outside at the bar had margaritas and boom boom shrimp which was excellent. Definitely recommend this place
Fish Tacos
Schooners has been great for decades. Prices are way up and portions fine but not huge. Went mid-afternoon on Sunday, sat outside on covered front patio. Overall we always come back. Kinda miss the old days, but no turning back the clock.
We made a quick trip from Tennessee to our son’s first baby shower. We were looking for something to eat before we left the area. We wanted to try something local and both of us wanted seafood. This did not disappoint! They were busy and we had to wait but no problem. We sat in upside on the patio so it was a longer wait of course. It was a beautiful day. Our food was great the service was great and we’ll try to eat there again when we’re back in the area.
1st time there. Probably wont go back since there are several other choices. Ordered the fish dip. Such a disappointment. The dip itself was good but tiny serving and served with odd things just to fill the plate. The mixer grill, market price of 26 dollars was very bland. Over cooked shrimp, good scallops and fish and then a small chicken breast. Again, odd choice. Mahi tacos were pretty good. Server was nice. Just too mediocre when there are other options and at those prices for lunch.
