They ripped me off !!! 1 1/2 pounds of bait shrimp, which should be been ten dollars and a pack of shrimp bites at 9 dollars, the lady charged me $26 bucks !!! I'm never going back !!!!!!Update: Andrea at Trout River Fish Co. reached out to me and promised to correct the mistake. I went back the next day and she made good on her promise. I was refunded a certain amount which I immediately spent on shrimp !!!! They are fair folk and I recommend Trout River Fish Co. for all your bait and tackle needs.
Fresh well maintained environment. Friendly service and fresh products on every visit this management knows how to keep seafood in a well freshness preserved enviroment.Definitely worth revisiting.
If you watching my reviews you know I needed to find a dependable spot for my Red Snapper. I appreciate how they will clean and filet them if you wish. There's one specific brown haired lady with glasses and ball cap and nice legs in shorts that always shows special attention to me and my daughter. Yall visit. But If I can't find my snapper .... we gonna have a problem. WITH❤️??
The people are very friendly there and fish always fresh. You can call in advance to find out if they have what you need. This fish market been around ever since I was a little girl and still maintains integrity!
This place is right in my backyard so I stop for Mayport shrimp usually, sometimes bait. They have frozen cigar minnows and squid and such. The other day I wanted some fish bones to make stock so I just went and bought a snapper, they filleted it up and wrapped it all up for me to take home so I had stock bones and two nice fillets. Great people. Smells like a fish market because, well...it is
1st they didn't have any shrimp bait which is what we went there for. Had to use the restroom and the ladies room was out of order and a sign instructed to use the men's. Tried to do so but the smell was too bad.☹️ They need to get it back together and back up to standard.
Great place for bait as well as fish for cooking. Great people working here.
Very fresh seafood market. The representative filleted the the red sea bass perfectly. This is definitely why this establishment has been in business for so many years! Awesome job. ?

I've gone to trout river for over 20 years and I had reservations about writing this review but I have to keep it real!! It seems there is no such thing as fresh fish there anymore, it's either frozen or old. Should never be sold to the public as fresh fish especially at that cost!!!
