Great people food and atmosphere. Owner is on site baking. Worth a visit just to look at the New York and mafia pictures on the walls. You walk in and are greeted by a wide selection of freshly made pizza available by the slice. Prices are more than fair and the toppings generous!
I don't know about the Pizza, but the food was "SO GOOD". I ordered "Jennifer Chicken" which came with linguine and salad. The plate was full from end to end and heaped high. I took it home and had some the next day and so did my grandson, I still couldn't eat it all. The rest of my part had Pizza and brought it home and had it the next day, So, I guess it must have been good. Waitress was vert friendly, I would recommend this place to anyone.
For 2 yrs, Tony Ds was the place to go for pizza. Within the last month or two, we have had pizza there 3 times, and each time the pizza was overdone and the crust tasted like cardboard (what I would imagine cardboard tastes like). When we talked to the server, he told us that a new pizza guy had been hired. We found out he was hired exactly the same week that we noticed the pizza had changed for the worse. We ate there 2 more times after that, and each time was the same...cardboard crust pizza and overdone. We also noticed a drastic drop in the number of people waiting for takeout as well as those waiting for a table. If the owner/manager is reading this, all this occurred at about the same time the dining room was expanded. We havent been back since our 3rd bad visit a couple weeks ago. Its too bad, since the pizza used to be 5 star. I gave the restaurant 2 stars this time for the benefit of the doubt, and hoping they go back to the crust recipe they had before. By the way, service is excellent, and the restaurant is clean.
This place was PACKED when I arrived with my family, no where to even stand. That is all I needed to know to stick around, we waited 45 minutes to dine in and the wait was worth it. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly. Although they were super busy, all staff was very polite and mannered. Best Margherita pizza in Jacksonville, and the wings were amazing!
I've been in JAX for a year and a half. Being a NYer we always looking for pizza. I've been told go to Mama's then Biggies, etc. The only thing about NY pizza in those place was the one Italian guy in the back. Then somebody said Tony D's so I took a chance because I was already heartbroken. Well I got my two slices and first thing the smell was amazing. Then the slice folded over my hand, GEEZUS! I knew I was in the right place. Trust you wanna taste of NY style pizza Tony D's is it. It's nothing more to say, just forget about the other place. I put that on everything thing this NY girl in a Florida world knows.
Staff was very friendly and professional! And seeing everyone working together and not seeing any anger or stress in the environment says a lot about the owner/boss/management. Great team, you can see into the kitchen and watching everyone do their thing in unison was amazing to see. The place was PACKED, we did wait 40 minutes but it was SO WORTH IT! Best Italian joint in town!
The food & service is amazing. Just know that no matter what you order it's going to be the best. We love this little hidden gem in Jax.
FINALLY!!! Our search for good pizza has ended after 6 years.GREAT PIZZA AND GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The only regret I have is not finding this place sooner. Keep up the good work. Wish you guys were little closer to us near the airport
I was happy to discover this pizzeria close to me in my neighborhood. First off I called ahead and placed an order, very pleased with that process. Also we tried ALL the desserts too: cannolis, Lemon cake, rainbow cake all of them were delicious. This pizza is authentic. The only thing I’m upset about?? That I didn’t order the garlic knots… but that will be solved because we will be back. Happy to recommend this for 5 star pizza.
Great food and great service
