The store appears to be geared towards grilling and smoking, offering a variety of high quality meats, seafood, and vegetables suitable fir the low and slow, as well as well as seasoning and sauces (I don't remember if they had wood chips or fuel).I purchased some of their ready-made brisket, and it was excellent: juicy and flavorful.Once I'm ready to get my smoker up and running, this is where I'll be coming.
Recently ordered some smoked meat, all 7 of my family that ate the smoked meat started vomiting and diahrea that same night and the next day. I called to let them know, was told the smoked meat could've been 2 or 3 days old. Justin who said he smoked my order said yes it's possible but he said it's fresh. Huge concern. If I want 2 or 3 day old meat why would I go to a butcher shop.
I always get my steaks from Tillman's. The Choice Rib Eyes are more like Prime with plenty of marbling. I have a pure bred Labrador that I show and breed. I only feed her quality food. I have Richard make up meatballs for my dog. He grinds up 25% Beef Liver, 25% Beef Heart, 25% of Tripe and 25% Lamb. She loves them and their very healthy for her. The staff is always friendly, the meat is quality, and I always have a great experience.
I live next to another meat shop (Starts with a C) and I still drive almost 15 - 20 minutes to shop at Tillmans. Richard and his crew are exceptionally helpful and go above and beyond in their customer service.Every week I get their smoked turkey breast (or some other smoked meat) and once a month I get their freezer special called "Country Boy" which is $199.Never have I been disappointed with their service or their quality.I highly recommend them as they are far above the other meat shops in terms of their products, service and attention to detail.Richard once told me that his success lies in doing the right thing even when nobody's looking. What a great team and store.Definitely check them out.
Absolutely appalling. This used to be a good store, but the sanitation and quality standards seem to be now like something out of "the jungle". I wasn't going to say anything but as I open more and more of my order out of the freezer, I am absolutely furious with Tillmans. Don't go here, or don't say I didn't warn you.Tillmans: Do not ask me to contact you etc like the other similar reviews. Instead, please go deep clean your entire facility, and adopt business practices of properly disposing of any meat that is not fit for human consumption. You will not hear from me again, thank you.
We absolutely ADORE Tillman's. So, when we rescued our new pup, and decided to feed him a combo of Raw/Kibble. We drove out to Tillman's to get their pre packed dog food packs. (Currently on sale for $4.99 per pound.) We purchased 12lbs. Our Pup prefers to have his meals cooked, and after cooking his weekend meals. We noticed what looks to be blue plastic ALL within the packs. We understand this is "dog food," But plastic? We've never had any issue with any of their services. However this is a big disappointment. Please do better. Animals don't need to eat chopped up plastic.
Today was our second trip, the first time everything was good except the beef and pork roast that was less than 2lbs each. They should have been 2.5-3lbs each. Today was totally different, we again purchased the 200.00 package and made a few changes. We asked for all breakfast sausage and received hot breakfast sausage, we ask for six half pound ribeye instead of the 2 1lb and 2 half lb. They told us at the register they didn’t have ribeye and would substitute the delmonico or NY strip. I said I preferred the delmonico and when I got home we had delmonico and NY Strip. We weighed out every thing and most was okay, except the pork chops which was a little over a pound short. I really thought we found a new butcher, but I can’t see driving 50 miles for this kind of service.Carl
Best quality meats I’ve ever had the pleasure of tasting. I now only purchase my meats from this place and I will never get meat from a grocery store again. Great staff and great owner
Decent little shop. Friendly staff. They seemed to be out of a few things when I visited which is the only reason for the 4 star rating but overall, but prices were fair and a good selection of meats given the size of the store.
Bought A $200 package of meat the only thing that was good was the bacon the steaks were very small and brown the spare ribs we couldn’t eat because they smelled so bad the sausage smelled so bad we stopped cooking it, the write up on the package wasn’t close on the steaks were listed as 2, 1 pound ribeye steaks both of them did even weight 10 oz, I bought some jerky they had out to eat on the way home and it made me sick, never going back, and yes it smells bad there. Don’t waste your money
