I hv wanted to go here since they opened, and regretting not visiting sooner. We were not disappointed today. With simplicity comes perfection. I had Southern Italian, and we had 2 BLTs and a Turkey and cheese. Everyone loved their food. Service was great, even when busy. It was nice seeing many people support local biz. Great meeting Chris. We will definitely be back soon. Gotta try the rest of the menu.
Had such a great experience, will 100% be returning with friends and colleagues. We'll be looking to cater in for our office meetings and happenings also! Highly recommend the BLT & parm fires! Thanks for taking such great care of us!
The beef on weck is delicious. So good I ordered it again to take home. Friendly and quick service.
It was ok. Really excited to try because I've been looking for a decent Italian deli for years and the pics/reviews of this place had me thinking this could be it. But the namesake Italian sandwich was lackluster. I could have gotten a better one at Publix. Husband got the roast beef with dip and it was straight up boring. Got the spicy mustard on it and they didn't know how to spread it so he got a terrible mouthful right in the middle of his sandwich. The same lady who takes your order was also cooking so service was slow to say the least. Also when i asked for fries, she said they "couldn't find them" which was confusing. You can't get another frozen fry and sprinkle parmesean on top? Very disappointing.
don't even know where to begin with this one.One of the things that I have consistently said since moving to Jacksonville six years ago is that the food scene is an unexpected delight and The Southern Italian is exactly the kind of place I'm talking about. It's relatively new and worth your time. It's not in downtown San Marco it's on the outskirts but worth the drive. The highlights:I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say this is the best pastrami I have ever. As a born and raised New Yorker from the city that's saying a lot. So it came as no surprise that they make their own pastrami. It was so good that that is actually what we're going to have for Thanksgiving this year. Screw the turkey we're ordering an entire pastrami. Let's move onto the meatballs again the best meatballs I've ever had and I've had a lot of them. They're like cloudsSitting in a well-balanced sauce. Absolutely delicious. The menu is limited which means it gives them more time to concentrate on making each thing perfect. On top of that they have their own sausage line, Cugginos, That's made fresh in the back and puts all those mass produced sausages to shame. It's an adorable little family run place and I love the thought of supporting a family business. Cleanliness: you could eat off the floors. The dining room is simply designed but they've thought of everything there's even a space for the kids to play while you're finishing and savoring your lunch. Hours are limited so I would highly recommend calling ahead with your order. You really won't be disappointed. And you'll want to come back again and again.contact m whatapp== +8801706332973

About 6 months The Southern Italian opened and this has become my go to lunch/office away from home. The amazing staff caremore about your experience than than any chainrestaurants would.I've read some recent reviews andclearly comparing the Deli sandwiches to the ones in NewYork and New Jersey is unfair especially considering theprice differences and the name alone tells you it's not THAT kind of DELI.Please do yourselves a favor and trust me when I tell youthat if you are local and want a great lunch, you should make a trip to see Chris, Trevor & Caitlin asap.If you're pressed for time, you can preorder from their Facebook or Instagram to save travel time. Their BLT is so good! I loved their spicy house made bacon… their garlic parm fries hit the spot and they are a very generous portion… the place is super clean and I found their fountain drink machine to be extremely clean.. practically sparkling and that means something to me… the folks are really friendly too. Happy to have this spot so close to me!
My significant other & I visited The Southern Italian & were amazed at not only the quality of food, but also the service. Definitely felt like being in the company of friends & the music was just right. Seriously in this crazy world we live in, it was such a breath of fresh air. We had the mild sausage & the pastrami & was able to try the banana pudding, compliments of the owner. This is easily one of, if not the best meals we've ever eaten. I cannot recommend this place enough! It is definitely a hidden gem! Such a warm & welcoming environment! Thank you for your kind service & your, hands down amazing food!!
