I've never been to a Mediterranean cafe, the atmosphere at first glance is really quite nice. It looks cozy and friendly. The people who took my order were friendly as well and I didn't have any issues. I tried the lamb gyro meal, it cost around $12 for the gyro, chips, and a side. I chose pasta salad. The pasta salad was probably my favorite part, it was zingy but good. The gyro, was ok. It was chewy and flavor wasn't strong. For some reason I think this is a close reminder of what a fast food Mediterranean would feel like. Maybe. I've had really good gyros and this really doesn't hold a candle to them. It was edible and really that was all. The chips were plain potato chips, they were good, I suppose.I think the worst part of the experience was the smell though. I couldn't quite recall exactly what it was but I kept getting flashbacks when I used to work for a hotel cooking crew, where we would have dirty floors and food all over the place. It reminded me of that. It was a little dirty, tables weren't cleaned off. But it wasn't super dirty. It just had a weird smell. The place looks nice at a glance but close up it's a little meh. I do love Mediterranean food so I'm a little sad I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted.
This was the worst gyro ever. Lettuce , tomatoes onions were old. Meat had dirty grill taste. Threw it in the trash when I got home.
Have enjoyed going to Taziki's for years getting the Mediterranean salad with salmon or pasta with chicken if it was during the weekend at the one on beach blvd. Well, ordered the latter at a San Jose location and was surprised of the lack of greens that came with it? Didn't want to create a stir with two newbies in my company but it felt like I was just eating pasta with chicken dipped in Mediterranean sauce. My friends enjoyed their gyros or Greek salads and the pita/hummus that I shared with them. Yes, next time I will speak up.
Best gyro I have ever had!!
Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the other reviewers, the food is pretty bland and the price is a little high for what you get. The people that work there are friendly and helpful but you do order at the counter so it is a little slow moving, especially if they have a customer that doesn't know what they want! We had the chicken roll thing with a side of pasta salad and the grilled beef. Both were very bland, no seasoning, no salt etc and the beef had tough pieces that I had to spit out. First and last visit for me.
We stopped in with family for a quick dinner after our granddaughter’s lacrosse game. Many others from the team also showed up here. There is another similar style restaurant next door and some ordered food from there. I had the gyro wrap plate but was disappointed. The meat was somewhat tough and sure tasted like beef, not lamb. Others had veggie wraps and other items from the menu. This is a semi fast food operation. You order at the counter and they deliver the food to your table. Prices seem a bit high for what you get but they are reasonable. It is the time of Covid! 3-25-22
Had a great lunch date with my hubby here today.Ordered the Hummus Trio and The Grilled Beef Feast. The food was excellent and the service was amazing. The only thing is the tables where dirty and we needed to ask them to be cleaned off.Definitely will be back for another great evening
Food was really good. Not sure if the portions were reasonable to the price I paid. Staff very friendly. Place was clean & everything up to covid standard.
