This place is a solid taco spot. I had the rib eye taco and the pulled pork. The pulled pork was by far the winner here flavors extended into the morsels of the meat, the steak was chewy and over done. But solid spot! Please offer chips & salsa! Makes all the difference.
Visited for the first time while in town. Decor and ambience is really cute. AMAZING plant decor outside in patio area. The vibe was definitely awesome and loved loved loved their music selection!Service was good and food came out relatively quickly.Food: We had the chips and salsa as a starter and it was meh. The tacos were fresh and flavorful and the tortillas were fantastic. Only negative is that the tacos were so full of meat/protein it was hard to fold to eat. We ordered extra tortillas to work around it. But otherwise the flavors were on point. The churro desert was perfectly bite-sized just a bit too doughy but good option for dessert. The arroz con leche was totally disappointing as I was expecting the traditional arroz con leche which is soupy and infused with flavor. Their version of it was three rice balls rolled in coconut shavings on a bed of dulce de leche. May be the Chef’s creative angle but not for the Latin enthusiast looking for the real deal.Drinks: The white wine sangria was delicious however the house margarita had way too much salt and it was undrinkable.Overall experience: Glad we tried it since we were new and visiting the area but I’d probably explore another taco place next time.
This is my second time eating at Cinco and it did not disappoint. Service was great, got our order and food quickly. The tacos had tons of flavor. Really loved the guac. Parking was easy. Great spot to pop in and grab a bite.
Just found my favorite place in five points. Come for the food and drinks, stay for the vibe. Best tacos ever, I highly recommend the Mateo's Especial.I came in right before closing to see what's really good and I was greeted at the door an sat out back. Absolutely love the ambience here, abundant succulents and healthy house plants surround you. Odessa, playing just loud enough to hold a proper conversation. My waiter was super sweet, and the food was like French kissing Salma Hayek in the middle of Dusk till Dawn, undeniably amazing. It could just be the locally rotating craft I ordered but I love this place. I'm coming back, hopefully with a date next time..lol ??
great food, great vibe, great service
Pretty good, although I don't like how you have to pay for a water bottle and they don't give u free chips and salsa like most authentic Mexican places. Very modern americanized kind of restaurant, feels more upscale then a classic taco joint but not exactly in a good way.
OMG! I don’t know why I didn’t find this place earlier! It can get busy, be warned, but with good reason :)The margarita was pretty standard, nothing too crazy, but well made.THE CHORIZO taco is to die for ? if nothing else go for that. Waitress was also very lively and kind.As of right now, I’d classify this place as the best tacos in all of Jacksonville.
My wife and I visited Jacksonville from out of town and stumbled upon this restaurant.I am not exaggerating when I say they were the nicest and most welcoming staff and owners I have ever encountered. It was my birthday and the owner went out of his way to make sure my experience was perfect. On top of that, the food and drinks were amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend Taqueria Cinco to anyone.
This was definitely a treat. Some of the best tacos I have ever had in my life. Authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest. Stop in and grab a few before you have a drink and get ready for a great nite. They even have a back patio your free to use. Grab place for a quick date too. She'll love it I promise.
This place has some great tacos. The flavors are all great and they give great portions of meat and toppings on each taco. My husband and I were both satisfied with 2 tacos each plus their guacamole and chips. In my opinion, the ribeye taco was the best. It was nice and spicy. The braised brisket was great too. The chorizo one was a bit too greasy for us. It soaked through the tortilla.Their tacos are on the pricier side. One taco is $4-$6.50, but they are very delicious. And it's definitely worth it if you are dining on site. Their sitting area outside is nice and shaded and the staff bring the food and crafted drinks to your table. I think the price is worth it for the quality of food, service, and ambiance.
