Third time is a charm. I didn't enjoy my first 2 visits to Sweet Mamas but I wanted soul food and didn't want to cook Sunday, and Soul Food Bistro was too busy. I loved my entire meal this go round. Considering it's cloer to my house, I'll definitely be back.
Because I live within 3 miles, periodically I have been driving by sweet mama’s for about 5 or 6 years and I have never stopped and tried out what they have to offer. O Lord, I have been missing out for to long. I ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy, lima beans and field peas for myself and I ordered meatloaf mashed potatoes and gravy corn and green beans for my wife. The chef brought me my dinners out and we had a brief conversation, he was really nice and I could tell he is a hard worker. My wife and I gave our meal a nine out of 10, great job sweet mamas. And I shall return
Good meal with reasonable prices
I've been there twice. Honestly, it wasn't the best soul food I've tasted. the owner was very nice and pleasant,. The pork chop I got wasn't really tenderly cooked, the cabbage wasn't especially seasoned and the gravy on the rice was too salty to me. I really wanted to be blown away but I wasn't. I hope they have success. I saw a lot of good reviews which is good. But for me, I don't think I'll be going back. I wish them the best rhough.
pork chop was tender and moist, rice, and veggies weren't mushy. great flavor cooked when ordered greeted with big smile!
Hands down great, well seasoned & portioned food at the price you pay for! Was tired of trying something new and spending money for not-worth-it food. This place is a must try. My first time & already gained a loyal customer plus customer service was an A++
Couldn’t find updated menu online initially.Food is pretty good, and staff is friendly even when busy. Only giving 4 stars because the first visit the food was not great. 2nd visit and on it was perfect, must of been different cooks.
Excited to try it. Ordered delivery on 3/5/22 around 1:30pm. My oxtail were so tough it was hard to believe ?. I could not eat them. If they were not ready to be served I would have understood. Beef sliders were good.
I was excited to try this place based off the reviews but it was a complete NO for me. The woman at the register was very friendly and the place was clean. I ordered fish dinner with yams, Mac n cheese, greens. The food was subpar at best. The candied yams taste like they came out of a can and they tried to put a lil extra too it but it didn't work...also canned yams r so easy to spot because they are all the same cut...Anyhow the biggest disappointment was the Mac n cheese..OMG I felt very disrespected to even been served that runny, saucy, salty grossness. The people serving it should be ashamed also. It was disgusting and that entire pan should've been thrown in the garbage. The fish n greens were alright. May have been an off day with the cooks but I was highly disappointed I drove 40mins for that ESPECIALLY that Mac n cheese. Oh i did enjoy the sweet tea.
If I don’t sit and eat my food there, I end up eating it the entire drive home because it’s just tooooooo good to wait for. The fish, shrimp, mac, yams, and the gizzards! Never been disappointed!
