First time visiting sumo sushi and it was awesome. Very tranquil setting and friendly staff. I got the 3 roll lunch special and had a spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and shrimp tempura roll. These are staples at every sushi restaurant and sumo's were my favorite I've eaten anywhere in Jax so far. As well the prices are solid, lots of other places seem to overcharge for these rolls, but the lunch special was $13 and these rolls are about $6 individually. Definitely will be a regular here as the location is great and easy to get to in the riverside area. Also way more parking than lots of places have on this side of town.
This place is good and affordably priced. If you haven't been I recommend giving them a try
My daughter has me in Love with Dynamite rolls and when I first started eating them I only went to one particular restaurant. I stumbled upon this place one day leaving Walgreens and oh how BLESSED I feel to have found them. 1st off, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR DAUGHTER who takes the orders, she's so sweet and courteous. 2nd and I hope this doesn't change but I've gotta say it, THEIR MUCH CHEAPER and JUST AS DELICIOUS as the restaurant I first started going to which is WAY higher. Now I have everyone eating at this one. I also love the ambiance inside, it kinda relaxes you.
Delicious sushi and great service. Good prices. Frequented here quite a bit.
We ordered 3 hibachi meals and 1 king sushi.The chicken was tuff and had no flavor.Our vegetables were over cooked.I paid $90 plus dollar.This could not of be the work of a Suso Chef.Save your money and find a true Japanese restaurant.
The staff is sweet and owners are very nice. This is a hidden gem. The decors are wonderful.
I got sick about 5-6 hours after eating some salmon rolls I bought using uber eats services. The sushi itself tasted great and didn't seem to have any bad quality ingredients, however when I woke up and started throwing up violently, all I could taste was the rotting fish. When I called them with my concerns they just dismissed me saying their chef has been in the game for 20+ years, not even once suggesting that they may be at fault here, I don't want anyone to get in trouble, nor am I suing or pursuing legal action of any kind. I just want them to quality check all their ingredients. I was throwing up on and off for about three hours and have diarrhea currently. They confirmed that their sushi grade fish is frozen at the correct temperatures to ensure its freshness and the quality of the food. Sushi was the only thing I ate past 12 yesterday and I woke up at 4am sick as all he'll. Granted the sushi was great so it may have been the sauces or maybe someone with the flu had touched my bag or it could have possibly been the uber driver who was sick herself. Just please make sure you guys check all your dates. Two stars because I love sushi lmao
I like Asian food specially sushi. I was in the area I went there to try their sushi. it couldn't be worse. Horrible taste. Took forever to make it. Family run business but they ask their kids to take orders and help customer which made it harder to order what i wanted

Absolutely loved this place. I got the sashimi dinner on rice and my best friend got the teriyaki salmon. Both were super delicious. The restaurant was super cute and the service was quick and speedy! Definitely will go back again! Cute hidden gem in riverside
