They've replaced service with digital kiosks, so when our burgers came out incorrectly made and missing ingredients we had to go into the kitchen to get the staff's attention to fix them. Additionally, burgers were mediocre and dry, far worse than other steak and shakes I've visited, and service was very slow despite the restaurant having few to no other customers. Only redeeming quality were shakes which, while they came out far later than our meal, were pretty good. Too thick to use the paper straw they gave us, however, so we used the straw as a spoon.
Hours posted as 1000 opening on a Sunday. Showed up at 1050 to locked doors, called to see if they were actually open as most times when I’m over here there are never any cars in the lot or drive thru.I did call just out of curiosity and was told the young lady was the only one in the store and was waiting on someone to show up at 11 to open. This did not bolster any confidence that we would receive timely or pleasant service so we decided to take our business elsewhere.Disappointed, but better luck next time…if they’re open and staffed.
How is Steak n Shake still open? They used to be be great. The last 2 times I went they were out of everything, cold food and bad service. This is the San Jose Blvd Jacksonville FL location! Please close your doors so a decent up and coming restaurant can move in! Your Philip's highway Jacksonville Florida location is the same. Do all us all a favor please!
My beloved Steak ‘n Shake…..never DoorDashing from you again. I ate it but not sure what chef would ever let this leave their griddle. I mean clearly they didn’t but come on I can do better than this.
I don't know what's going on with the service at this location, but it has starting to go downhill. My girlfriend and I came to this location a few times prior and it was good. When we came in only one of the kiosks we're working, the shake machine was down and the large fry we ordered was missing. She went to the counter and asked after we got the burgers where our large fry was. The person cooking told the other person that she needed to make our fry order. Nearly 30 minutes go by still no fries. I got up and finally asked where our fries were. We got them 26 minutes after we got the burgers. I also noticed one of the the employees was constantly on her phone. I took pictures but I couldn't figure out to post them here.
Went there this evening with my boyfriend, and upon arrival all of the ordering kiosks we're out of order except for 1. We made our order at 7:48 pm and our order arrived at 8:01 pm. Our large fries was missing and I politely told the one person that I was missing my large fry which in turn she told someone else and then she said they'll be right out. We waited over 20 minutes from the time I told them and we still had no fries. My boyfriend went up there and asked for the fries and again the person told the other person and still waited about 5 more minutes. The girl that brought them out had an attitude. We have previously been to this location and had great service with no complaints, but after tonight I am not sure if we will be back. Also the store was quite dirty. Garbage overflowing in the front and back dirty trays and cups sitting on tables. I understand being short staffed but this was no excuse.
My meal is burned and almost my entire order is as well. Not just a little over done, but burned. I'm not real picky about my food plus I understand if a staff is a little short handed, but at least tell someone theyre going to have to wait a little longer for the food to be done the right way. Then when I tried to call to see if they would be willing to reconcile over the phone, there was no answer no matter how much I called. I never would've paid for something like this had I known ahead of time. I'm so done with steak and shake.
Nasty restaurant. terrible service
My first time eating at steak n shake. This location was sooooo slow. Took 30 minutes for our group to get their food. Not very good or hot when we did get it. Coke and shake were ok. Floor was sticky to walk on. Never plan to eat at one again.
I have to say I was very impressed with my service tonight. Credit where credit Is due. Staff was on point. Food was on point. Considering my previous experiences, i took a gamble. I am pleasantly surprised. Whatever yall are doing, keep doing it. Thank you!
