Soul food can be pricey. It's not a problem when it's good. The food is mediocre, haven't found better soul food than Austin's on Main, the search continues!
TBH I FEEL LIKE WE SHOULD BE MOVING INTO ANOTHER DIRECTION WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO THE MENU????? DON'T GET ME WRONG ," WE ALL COME FROM IT BEING FORCED TO WORK FOR FREE WHICH OUR ANCESTORS DID ALONG WITH BEING REGARDED AS THE LOWEST FORM OF LYFE!!!!! SLAVES!!!!! SO WE TOOK THE SCRAPS AFTER WE PICKED THEIR CROPS FROM EVERY HARVEST AND PUT OUR HEART AND SOUL INTO....WHAT WE CALLED SOUL FOOD??? AND NO MATTER WHAT PLANTATION WE CAME ACROSS WHEN WE DID EVENTUALLY ESCAPE AND THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW ALL THESE PLANTATIONS MOVED IN OVERNIGHT....WE WERE NETWORKING ?????? SO WHEN A SLAVE ACTUALLY GOT CAUGHT BY DA OPPZ THE CODE WORD WAS ( BIG MAMA ) SLANG FOR : I ESCAPED FROM MY PLANTATION AND IM ON THE RUN MAY I HAVE A PLATE OF LEFTOVERS IM HEADING OUT UNDER THE MIDNIGHT SUN ??.....TIMES ARE CHANGING MAYBE WE CAN ELEVATE THE MENU BUT STICK TO OUR ROOTS. This place is amazing everyone loved everything, you have to get the Mac and cheese oh and the dirty rice. Just try everything and make sure you get a slice of the pound cake it was so warm fluffy and moist.
