I guess this establishment went covid crazy and decided to sterilize its eating area to make it look like a hospital cafeteria. When I used to think of Pollo Tropical is was bright and lively and made you feel welcome, now its just dismal and depressing. The food was on par with what I'd normally expect, good enough. The prices on the other hand are just getting unreasonable, like nearly eight dollars for a Cuban sandwich by itself! They could at least throw in a soda and a few yucca bites for that much. Just all around disappointing compared to my past experiences.
Food was terrible! Bought 2 cuban pork sandwiches, some meat was cold, sandwich was not warm, bought fries & yuca fries for sides, both were terrible. Yuca fries were old, not fresh. Fries were not fresh , Fried over crispy and lots of oil. Wasted $23. On this waste of terrible food. Save your money & stay away from this disgusting whatever it is.

this might sound discriminatory to some but I've been around food for a very long time in my whole life and from what I've seen and experienced myself hands-down certain restaurants have to have certain type of people working them in order for food to be good, pizzerias with good pizza means there is a Mexican making the pizza, in a Spanish restaurant like this one you have to have a couple of Spanish workers at least; this place I saw none which is why the food was horrible
Food had good taste, but the rice was hard, the food had been sitting in the warmer for enough time to make it dry, lemonade also tasted sour, probably a day old as well. I did stop by around 4pm It was probably the slow time for them and the food was not rotating as fast.
Pollo Tropical is good, but why do they for the fried plantains whenever I order the Family Duo? It’s part of the meal, but I almost always have to remind them it’s included.
The rice pudding was sour and not pudding consistency (definitely expired). Threw it in the trash.
this place used to be great before it closed, now that it had reopened their quality of food have gone down. ordered two different sides only for them to tell me they were out of corn and mac and cheese. the one stars is for the chicken it was pretty good, the fried yuca needs to be checked regularly as it quickly gets stale, i was given two stale batches of fried yuca. rice was a disaster was not at all cooked and was very dry.
I wish there was a zero stars option to select. Just went there. 1- closed for dine-in with absolutely no reason 2- no apple pay 3- cannot scan the rewards app 3- ran out of some menu itens at lunchtime 4- worst service I’ve seen in my life, everyone working there were clueless. Very upset because I used to love that chain and this location is great.
Great food. But the worst customer service in the fast food business. I stopped coming for 6+ months because of the last employees. Now the new ones are worse. They don't want you there and mumble/ignore you and give you dirty looks. The ugly, fat, short Mexican/Asian hybrid is the worst.
