I used to love this place, but they have fell off. Will try them once more before I forget them.$50 for 2 entries, 2 sides, 2 dessert, and 2 fountain drinks. Chopped steak was flavorful but cold. Actually, everything was warm at best. Bread, white rice, and hush puppy's were dry and hard. Fish had good crunch but little flavor and mushy. Room had bad smell. Staff was great. Could have gotten better and more food from Golden Coral.
Food is good for cafeteria style. Service has improved since they hired some new serving line staff. 2 for $22 is a good deal m-f after 4pm.I usually do take out so, be your own judge for inhouse eating.
My family had not eaten at Piccadilly in years. The food was ok very filling. My disappointment came with the dessert. My mom& sister got blueberry cheese cake, I got the red velvet cheese cake. The crust was burned on all 3 desserts to the point that the desserts were not palatable. Full from the meal, we didn't realize it the issue with the desserts until we got home. We are not duval county residents so I couldn't take them back. Such a disappointment. In my opinion those desserts should have never left the kitchen to be place on the food line.
Sorry to say but the place is sad because the company doesn't keep it up. I'm surprised it's still open. Starting with signage outside, in bad shape. The place is dated and it smells. I could have sworn I smelled urine at my booth. The bathroom smells like urine and one sink doesn't work. The food was just ok. Kind of below standard. The staff was very nice though. I felt sorry for them that they have to work in those conditions. Gut it and modernize and I bet the place would be packed. Also advertise. Most people don't know it's still there. It's a shame the company has let it fall into that condition. Looks and feels like it's on it's way to closing. That would be a shame. There are no other cafeteria's in Jacksonville FL.
Food was good and what a blast from my past, I haven't eaten at a Piccadilly in 30 years
One does not expect much from cafeteria food, of course it is prepared in batches and so not tailored to the individual. But when you want some variety and some better than fast food indigestion, Piccadilly's fills the bill for about the same price as a Macdonald's meal.
Like this restaurant a lot old fashioned but tastes like homemade
Took my Stepdad for dinner. He enjoys being able to select his food especially the portion size. I like having a good variety of food....and being able to select my food..The staff are super. We have dined at this particular place monthly for 10 years or so. They know my stepdad and make a fuss over him which makes his day. He's 98, a disabled WW Two Vet who does not move as fast as he once did..... When I say staff I mean everyone one from the line servers to the manager to the young people bringing us refills on tea. The price is reasonable and the service is great. I love the liver and onions. They do a lot of take out because it's located near the hospital. I would recommend this place anytime. Plenty of parking.
I love Piccadilly. The food was great and very nice nice customer service and very great host and waitress Mr. Johnny.
food amazing great people
