Stacey waited in line of 30 people. Lee told her to get out we would go somewhere else. You give order as you go in. So it would not have worked.
We visited on a friend's recommendation specifically for crab legs. Those were enjoyed along with some fish tacos and Buffalo shrimp. The blackened chicken sandwich and Mahi special were ok. The staff was very nice. If it were any hotter outside, I likely wouldn't visit. You are eating outdoors behind the original building next to port-a-potties with no ocean view. Meals were a bit pricey also.
wide variety of food on the menu but not so much with drinks. Very reasonable pricing and good sized portions. At the time we were visiting, the outdoor seating was closed due to construction. Parking limited. A bit off the beaten path, expect to drive a ways to find it!
This place is terrible. I don’t usually write reviews, but this was beyond disappointing! They still have a huge tent out front so you can’t sit inside the restaurant or see the water, the bathrooms are literal port-a-potties because they won’t let you inside. The hostess couldn’t be bothered, our server was TERRIBLE. She said three things to us the entire time: “what do you want to drink?”, “are you ready to order?”, and “thanks “ when she brought the check back so I could sign. She didn’t even say hello, and acted like she’d rather be anywhere else. I was a server for many years and it takes a lot for me to leave anything less than 20% tip, but I just couldn’t do it this time. If all of that wasn’t bad enough, the food was sub par. If the food had been amazing I may have overlooked the other stuff, but sadly the entire $70 experience sucked and was a huge waste of money.
I have been wanting to return here for a while. I drove about 60 miles round trip. I didn't know I was going to have to sit under a white plastic tent with no fans that of course you couldn't see the water. I had the 3 combo , shrimp, oyster and clams.. Although no seasoning at all, the oyster and shrimp were good but the clams were not and they were all crammed on a small plate which made them soggy. The waitress was very pleasant and gave very good service. I gave them poor instead of average because of the clams, no seasoning and soggy.
I've learned to read the restaurant reports more closely. I seriously don't understand what's to like about this place as a 'restaurant'. It's on a cool spot of the river, and it's probably okay to hang out and grab a few beers, but that's it. It must be an awful place to work, since the servers seemed genuinely stressed and unhappy to be there. Food tasted like it came out of a box, and had an aftertaste. I guess maybe they don't intend to have repeat customers; just grab some dollars from people before they continue the drive down A1A.
Arrived in the dark and was surprised to see that it is basically some large tents around tables. They had very good lighting and heaters all around, so I never felt cold. The server was top notch and my son and I split a bucket of various seafood that was very good. The tent did keep any scenic water views away, but it was dark anyway. The only thing that dropped it a star was as a previous commenter mentioned, there were a lot of cats in the area and moving around the outside area near the kitchen. Wish something could be done about that, but otherwise pleased.
Large, excellent quality, well-seasoned peel and eat shrimp at $22 per pound. No waiting and fast, efficient service.
This place was bad. Like, I'd prefer captain Ds over this and I'm not exaggerating. I'm normally excited to try the of the beaten path restaurants but this one..... yuck. Fried shrimp were gooey. Fried fish had zero flavor. None whatsoever. We ordered shrimp nachos and for 10.00, we got about 10 tortilla chips out of a bag with nacho cheese on it and maybe 3 shrimp? I could go on and on but every single thing we ordered was awful. Pass on it
Singleton's Seafood Shack is perfect for you if you enjoy: 1. Dining in a broken-down, airless tent in a parking lot in the heat of Florida 2. Using a filthy, smelly porta-potty with a nasty outdoor sink for handwashing 3. Being surrounded by flea-ridden feral cats while you dine 4. Chowder that you can literally stand your spoon up in, with EXTRA-gritty clams 5. Flavorless, overcooked blackened shrimp, warm and tasteless coleslaw, and soggy French fries Act now, and your intestines can be just as cramped and painful as mine are after a mere one hour and only a few bites of dining here!
