I absolutely love Moxie! This location is distant for other places in the Jacksonville Town Center so it provides a peaceful dining experience outside and on their rooftop. The deviled eggs are to die for and I adore their crab cake appetizers. For main dishes my go to is meatloaf, chicken & waffles, or shrimp & grits. Definitely an ideal location for a date or intimate birthday dinner.
Consistently great service and food. The Brunswick Stew is a delicious way to warm up on cooler winter days. The Meatloaf its top notch.
There's nothing like ordering the same meal as someone next to you and yours looks nothing like theirs. Grey meat, cheese that looked like it came off another persons unfinished meal, half the accompaniments were missing, which i had to ask for. Then the bartender is too embarrassed to check on you for the rest of your stay or even try to make it right? Really really bad. There are way too many better places to spend your money in the area. Amazing food and excellent cocktail options ! Do try the Chai-Rye cocktail...! The place is not closing down; they are re-naming the place due to some brand name conflict with another local business. Chances are, they'll turn it in an Italian place !
I am disappointed. We were seated behind a fairly large table and paid the price. We waited an exceedingly long time for lunch. If you just had an hour you’d be in trouble. Our waitress provided damage control but complimentary deviled eggs and bread do not really compensate however she was very pleasant and apologized for the delays. Bread was not fresh.

Great place to meet with a friend or a group of friends & have a glass of wine, & dinner. It's really cozy, great staff & enjoyable the only issue I have is they need to do a better job with the food, especially for the price. I can get food at a bar & grill or wherever that tastes better at 1/2 or even 1/3 the cost. So please work on better food options, especially vegetarian ones. Everything else is great.
Good food. Poor service today. Requested table outside, and the mistake was our server. First, we saw that people seated after us, inside, received drinks several minutes before we did. Same server. Excuse was "bar was slow." Think not. Everything came out slowly. Subsequent drinks, check-ins, and the check...waited a good 10 minutes longer than we should have during non-prime hours. Only thing that came out quickly was our food... and someone else was responsible for that. I'm the polite one. My partner was furious and would be writing a far more scathing review.
My go to for amazing food. Number one because they are innovative with their menu, assuring to entice any foody out there. Two, they are very accommodating for vegans with a good vegan menu and going so far as to modify dishes to be solely plant based. It's hard to recommend any one particular item, as everything is truly equally delicious. Highly recommend for carnivores and herbivores alike!!!
Enjoyed my first meal at Moxie and I'll definitely be back.
