Food extremely over salted. The floor was slippery from grease and lack of cleaning. It was at least eighty degrees in the restaurant and very uncomfortable. We asked for extra plates as we had a celebration cake and were told there would be a $5.00 charge for them! What???!! With our group of 13, we spent about $500 so to charge for plates was a little unreasonable and did not show appreciation for our business. We felt very rushed to finish and leave. Staff stood close by ready to charge over and clean the tables. This seems a little obsessive and irritating. Most, if not all, in our group decided we would not be back. We prefer Kyiobi on Kingsley or Kan Ki on San Jose. Will choose one of those in the future.
The staff and service are wonderful but the pricing has gone way up over the years while the portion sizes have gone down a bit. Its a little disappointing. The food is still good, but there are other places I would recommend first.
I came to this location tonight for the 1st time with my parents and 2 kids. Spent $290. I got 4 sushi rolls and a chicken Hibachi to go, for my husband. We get home, he has 2 shrimp in his box, right in the middle of his chicken. He is allergic to shrimp, which is why I order CHICKEN!!!! I called the restaurant 7 (yes, SEVEN) times and no one will even pick up the phone! Thanks for ruining this night for us! We will never be back! Not to mention, the entire time we were there we felt rushed! From ordering, until after we paid. They gave us boxes 3 minutes after we were served our food. They stood right over our shoulders while we ate, and stood right in front of us while we were counting the money to pay. Ridiculous! Very disappointing!!
Lots of tables and accommodations for large groups. Service was prompt. No dessert options. Scallops and lobster were over cooked and salty. Rice had a lot of soy sauce dumped in during the cooking process. The experience felt rushed at times. Shrimp was good. Steak was low quality. Ginger salad was fresh and delicious. Soup was fantastic.
Got Chicken Teriyaki Bento and it was very good. Interior and exterior of restaurant was in good condition and staff were very nice. They gave me a cheesecake because it was my birthday, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to take someone here for their birthday.
Food is absolutely delicious. Probably the fastest hibachi place I have ever been to. Staff is friendly, quick, and chefs are funny.
We usually go to another Japanese steakhouse but they were closed. We were celebrating a birthday and decided to try this place out. HUGE disappointment. The food was not so good and the cook did not put on a show at all. He made a fire on the flattop grill twice and then tried to spin an egg and it cracked. He then just carried on as a cook would in a rear kitchen and cooked our meal. At $35 a plate , we expected to have some laughs and see a good show as we are used to at other competitors. We won't go back. :(
The food was delicious and fresh but the little guy cooking (hibachi) was lackluster and the waitresses, OMG. They stand over you and watch your like a hawk and as soon as you turn your head they come around and try to take your plate or soup. Very invasive.... I don't think I'll be going back there ever again! That food is too expensive and they ruined my dining experience.
Sushi is *chefs kiss* so good!
This place is fantastic. Really pretty inside and the food was great! We had tempura and hibachi dinners. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Since covid I’ve been less likely to go out to dinner because service is so spotty but at Mikado before I could Even ask for a napkin the waitress had appeared with one. Def will be going back here for dinner soon! 10/10 perfect night out spot
