Our table for 6 was ready a bit early. Drinks ordered and quite a wait, same to order, same for 2nd drink, same for food (about 2 hours)! Complained to Manager-no changes noted! At end of dinner, "Manager" came by-turns out, first Manager was not "the" Manager and had not passed on our problems to the Manager! By that time, was nothing she could do, except "comp" a few items, and help get us out of the restaurant after 3 hours! That was appreciated! All of us have dined at Marker 32 numerous times over past 20 years, but not lately. It was blatantly obvious that the spoiled evening was due to lack of service (and perhaps other) personnel. Our obvious suggestion is to tailor reservations to number of expected workers for a particular evening. Rather that , than create such reviews as this! Oh, food good, as usual...
Nestled off causway bridge to beach next to boat docks. Nice view of the docks. Primarily a Seaford restaurant, but don't let that stop you from ordering the filet. One of the better ones I have tasted. The scallops. Were. Out of this world, served on flavored grits. Wasn't sure the grits would work but turned out to be an incredible pairing with the scallops. Also the flounder topped with crab was very good. Good but not bothersome service. Most meals in $28-$40 range, filet was a bit more. Our go to place for a nice meal. You won't be disappointed.
This is a great place for date nights. Great vibes and upscale seafood that is perfectly executed and with good portions. There were also plenty of non-seafood entrees that we did not get to try. I especially liked the crab cakes and potatoes. Each dish had a nice presentation and we were satisfied with the portion sizes. Try the machiatto cheesecake for dessert. Very indulgent. If you are lucky, you'll get one of the many window seats overlooking the river and maybe catch a glimpse of the local friendly cats that live there. Say hi to Buster the tabby!
Superb where do I start our server was absolutely amazing very attentive five star rating is the food absolutely delicious I had the filet mignon and it was to die for it melted in my mouth. For our appetizers we had the Steen oysters they were perfect I would definitely recommend this restaurant I will definitely be revisiting this restaurant I wouldn’t say that it is a romantic dining for our surroundings it was more just casual more upscale but it has a great setting off the pier where you can view all the boats that docked lovely Restaurant we came in on a Monday around 5 PM it was not crowded at all but around 6 PM that’s when the crowd comes in
This had great good the night we went. The staff was lovely. It’s crowded so make a reservation. The fried oysters with deviled egg snd pimento cheese with green tomatoes was good. Fish special good. Has a southern type menu
We came for our 30th wedding anniversary on a Monday. The dining room was packed full, but we still had an great view. Our server was beyond excellent. His name is Pryce and he gave us great attention, it shows that he truly loves his job. He is not stuffy, he was funny and truly seemed excited for our celebration. The scallops were excellent, cooked to perfection, the best I have had in Jacksonville. The broiled oysters delicious. And the crème brûlée is just so good. The manager impressed us, he circled the room making sure every diner was happy. We had not been to Marker 32 in around 27 years, it was a far drive, so we frequented Julington Creek Fish Camp near our home. Thanks to Marker 32 and to Pryce for making our 30th enjoyable.
Food is always amazing... deviled eggs, fried oysters, warm bacon spinach salad, chicken & mushrooms...And then key lime pie! All with a beautiful sunset.Last visit: Delicious filet mignon with butter mushrooms & pork with asparagus & potatoes. The creme Brule was perfect too. As always, the service was friendly & efficient in a beautiful setting. Specialty cocktails are worth trying. Our favorites are the old fashioned & Cucumber Basil Gimlet.
I will be honest this is a nice restaurant but fine dining? No. Worth the price? No. But our service was nice. I would recommend a different restaurant if you are looking for the quality of a fine dining experience. The food was just below average. Ordered two chef specials and it was served with these blue cheese potatoes that sounded amazing but not so much. Very disappointed overall.
This place is amazing, love the deviled eggs with oysters, the shrimp pasta, the ribeye special, and especially the wine, Santori Regolo, I recommend it. And of course the service was outstanding.
The service was good but not stellar. The cocktails were very good, and the seafood was really fresh. Steak was cooked properly. The appetizers were good but not as good as the entrees - calamari not crispy enough. I would recommend and would return but be aware it is on the expensive side and not bowl-you-over outstanding.
