You have to ask for it, but it is an excellent Cuban sandwich with a croquette! Server was attentive, friendly and patient with my southern attempts at Spanish. Atmosphere is comfortable, clean and had some great music. Will definitely be coming here a lot!
Genuine Cuban street food
The menu on here isn't updated, make sure to check on their website for an updated one, especially if you are a picky eater like myself sadly. Other than that, it was a nice atmosphere with decent sized appetizer portions, okay but pretty bland food and not a place I plan on going to more than once since it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. Pictured are the tostones relleno, the chicken quesadilla which was more so a burrito and the chicken empinadas. Also be sure to ask for any condiments you want with your food since it isn't included with them besdies ketchup with the fries.
The food was amazing!! ???Had the papas rellenas start, and the “Masitas de puerco” -pork in sautéed onions, mojito sauce side of DELICIOUSLY made black beans and yellow rice…plantains were just right! The facility was clean, Waitress was sweet and attentive, will definitely be back… trying everything on the menu! ????
So i came to jacksonville to visit a friend at the Mayo Clinic and found this place quit by chance. They were very friendly and inviting. I sat at the bar and they took care of me. I had the pollo asado with fried yuka, yello rice and black beans. It was exceptional. The chicken was moist and the skin was crispy. The yuka was also crispy and hot which is sometimes hard to find.I ended my meal with a cup of cuban coffee to help with my long night ahead and it was good.I highly recommend the service too. The staff was on the ball and expediting in the kitchen and at the check out for takeout.I'll be back!!
First time for Cuban food, and I'm glad Mambos was the restaurant I happened to find. Great food and super friendly service. Looking forward to more Cuban food. :)
