This place is a great find! We were visiting my mom and she agreed to babysit, so we went out and found this place. It’s located in a little plaza, but you know it’s a special restaurant as soon as you walk in. Great food and speedy service. I don’t recommend sitting at the sushi bar, but it’s fabulous! We’ll be back!
When I want sushi I don’t just want any sushi. I want that real, beautifully crafted, fresh, flavorful sushi that will fulfill all my sushi needs. Hana Moon delivered and exceeded all my sushi expectations & more. Fabulous service & lovely dining ambiance. I can’t rave enough about how delicious the food is, quality, quality, quality. I’ve been on the hunt for my new sushi spot and wish I had discovered Hana Moon sooner! After our first dining in experience we already consider ourselves unofficial regulars. Absolutely love this place! Small, quaint “hole in the wall” with excellent taste! Want wine with your sushi? They have it! Want sushi and it’s your sushi? They have it! Excellent menu, excellent sushi, excellent service!
Have been ordering from This restaurant since they opened which I think was during Covid-19. It has always been good and the staff great. The staff is still great. It seems they have changed recipes on a few menus items and are not able to custom make some things like spicy tuna that now contains scallions. The other part is the spicy rolls is they are adding “crunch” and that is just filler: less fish more filler. I come for the sushi not the “crunch”. If they can’t make a roll without scallions then it must be premixed and that concerns me about the freshness. My spicy scallop roll as served originally was not spicy and full of crunch. I could not taste the scallop. The chef did remake and it was good but removing the crunch left a lot of rice. You can see by the pictures. Now I can taste the scallop but not spicy at all. The Hana Moon roll is awesome! All in all, sushi is good. I’m not sure about returning if I can’t get a roll that has spicy tuna without scallions. That decision would be based solely on menus options such as that. I have also had the hibachi which has always been excellent and plentiful. Lastly, I will comment on the “crunch” being added as filler: I am seeing this at many sushi places. Not a fan of “crunch” filler. IMHO, rice is enough filler. I go for sushi for the fish not the rice or filler.
Went in for ramen but it would've taken too long, had sushi instead for their lunch special and it was really good. Cheap for lunch and good quality sushi.

Came here for lunch I ordered the Jacksonville roll and the dynamite roll. My husband ordered the cowboy cowboy roll and Christian roll the miso soup is delicious this lil gem is a great recommendation you won’t be disappointed great service and food. ?
Literally one of the best Japanese restaurants in Jacksonville! I have never come across a friendlier staff - it was so sweet seeing them interact with their regulars and they made me feel like I was family. The food was AMAZING - had a California roll and vegetable fried rice - super fresh and delicious. They even brought us a little dessert at the end of dinner.
Second time here and it’s AMAZING! The food and service are top notch. Always good food always friendly service food comes out fresh and quick. And last but not least the playlist or station they play their house music from is amazing as well. This will be added as one of my faves!
