I can overlook a lot of things in a restaurant but lack of communication is not one of them. We’ve eaten here many times over the years and the food is typically pretty good while the service can be hit or miss. Today was a big miss. We arrived and placed our order and then.....nothing. We waited probably close to 20 minutes for our food with zero communication from the server. A quick “sorry for the delay, you’re behind a huge takeout order” would have gone a long way. Of course, why you can’t have someone working your dine in guests while someone else works takeout always makes me scratch my head. When the food finally got there we got a “thanks for your patience you were behind a huge takeout order” but nothing while we were waiting. I’d expect this from a big chain but not from a small, local place. Maybe instead of chatting behind the counter tell your customers what’s happening.

Food is really really good and staff friendly, lots of vegetarian options too, and the market is amazing.. so many different types cheeses, honey, teas, coffee, spices, cured meata , olives, oils etc..form various parts of the mideast. .fresh baklava - even a super free option, breads, pida, a cold and hot bar with all sorts of things including dolmas....I could spend all money there

The food was great and at a great price. Don't be fooled by the location. It is in a run down shopping center but the restaurant is clean and the food fresh. There is also a grocery store attached to the restaurant where you can buy Middle Eastern groceries.

When we visit Jacksonville, Hala's is number one on our list of Restaurants. Absolutely love their food. Friendly staff and awesome service. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite places to go in Jacksonville. They have a great restaurant but also an amazing market. Worth a stop!

Fresh, fluffy pita bread. Going back to try out their lunch options!

clean store, friendly staff

Love their fresh pita and self service deli

Our first visit to this restaurant on recommendation of a friend. We found the food very good the service excellent. They were very good explaining the dishes. Very Mediterranean Cuisine.

Saw an add for this restaurant on Facebook and was excited to try it. We stopped for lunch after a shopping trip in Jacksonville and it didn’t disappoint. The menu was extensive and we had a hard time choosing. We both had pita sandwiches. Mine with lamb was delightful; tender and perfectly spiced. My friend had a chicken pita that she loved. The hummus was like a remembered my aunt making. So much better than store bought. The tabouli was fresh. We brought pita bread, zartha and stuffed grape leaves home. My mom loved them. Reminded her of her childhood. It’s almost an hour away but we’ll certbe back!
