Thought the bar atmosphere was great! Really enjoyed being able to dance and jam out to amazing music, and then step aside and play some retro games while surrounded by open and loving individuals.BUT!Recently was informed that actually my friends and my community is not part of their brand. Many friends in the LGBTQ+ community were treated rude by the owner while he was serving drinks, andI am definitely not going back to somewhere my friends and I aren't wanted..Side note, much of the other staff is absolutely wonderful and kind. It's hard writing a bad review for a place I got comfortable in and thought my business there was respected.
We usually come here once a month, or at least try to. There's an event that's hosted here monthly. Honestly, my only dislike about this place is the bar service, especially when they are busy. Luckily on our last visit we were informed there has been some changes with their bar staff and it was noticeable. People were getting their drinks much quicker.The place is small. However they have an indoor and outdoor area, both have bars. There's a billiard table and some game machines for those interested. Plenty of seating as well.
Nice vibe...amazing staff(Pixie) was my bartender and I loved her drinks and conversation. I felt so at home with everyone (customers and staff) having a great time. Definitely recommended for a fun or chill night.
It was very nice and laid-back. I was visiting from out of town and a Woman from another club suggested it,and it was really very nice! The atmosphere was great and adultish,very friendly. If I'm fortunate to get to Jacksonville Florida again I definitely will visit this place again,No Doubt!
This review was being updated to reflect the fact that the management of this club has decided to cancel the DJ on Friday nights because they don't want that type of clientele meaning the LGBTQ community. This is not the 1st time they have done this to a DJ or event sponsor. This is however the 1st time my community has been singled out.I guess our money is good enough for them.The only reason this is a 4-star and not a 5-star review is that right now, with all of the construction of the new roundabout at Riverside and Herschel, it can be a bit complicated making your way over to the bar. After multiple failed attempts to sneak through the neighborhood to get there, we finally found a route from Roosevelt via St Johns, coming in from the west.Mike B. played a great mix of current, old -school and electro-inspired dance music accompanied by hypnotic videos. He managed to inspire several patrons to stop taking selfies and come out to the dance floor and actually dance. I haven't seen that in a while.Pixie and the guys behind the bar provided fast, friendly service of well-made drinks. Between customers, you could tell they were having as good of a time as the patrons. The energy was friendly and inviting, not at all standoffish as many of the few remaining nightclubs can feel. The expansion of the Super NES systems to multiple games on the side tables is a nice touch.If you've never been to Eclipse, Friday night is a great introduction (or reintroduction) to a Riverside staple that has survived dating apps and COVID.
for starters not getting rid of the great people that try to make that place the best place ever and bring in the money and crowds. 2. have the owner removed. that place had had a bed rep for some years now and having a snake is making it worse. 3. having a reputation of not promoting events that they should be. then having people they where supposed to pay do all the work to turn around and get nothing. 4. for doing jobs they have no business or experience or knowledge of doing getting the local music and community scene to where countless have said they will never play there again. 5. saying the now they don't want the place to be branded that way... wow as a LGBT member along with countless others we are outraged by this insult to the community. and the fight the community has to go threw everyday. enough is enough. you need to make a serious change otherwise close your doors. the end
