Food was great. The show could have been better. He didn't do as many tricks and we had people with us that had never been to one before. And no shrimp appetizer. So I guess that has changed. I haven't been in a while. Otherwise great.

Awful. Frankly, I am stunned to see the volume of positive reviews here that there are. Ruined my anniversary outing, intended to be a fun night out with my wife and son, possibly the worst dining experience in decades. Rude and rush rush rush. The entire emphasis is turn the table, and get snippy if anyone interferes with their expedited timeline. From the table seater ignoring requests and clearly looking irritated when I wasn't ready, no interest in anything other than getting people seated, interact as minimally as possible, they set the tone for the evening. I went to the bar (twice) to try and get a glass of wine, as I missed my ONE opportunity at seating, but was glared at by the lady pouring drinks there. The chef was ho-hum, but I think he was reacting to my negative energy so we had sort of a RBF stand-off. He did the required/expected onion volcano thing at the beginning, but that was about it. I can say the food itself was good, although I thought I was going to choke being forced to eat it so quickly. And when finished (i.e. rushed through the check with no offer of dessert), the bussers awkwardly cleaning up around us with body language that clearly said "move along please, move along, we need this table". Which they didn't, by the way. There were as many empty tables and occupied. I recognize there may be staffing issues, but a patron should not suffer for it. The place itself is frankly feeling a little shabby, just dusty and greasy. I would say neglect from the 100% focus on turning tables. In the end, I'd say I went (on recommendation, surprisingly) as a party of 3, and paid $95 for hibachi fast food with a side of extreme frustration. I will never spend another nickel in this place, and will make every effort to share this message with anyone who mentions their name.

They will not accommodate smaller portions for healthy eating or bariatric patients. They would not let me order from the kids meal either . My favorite place and I will not be back.

Great food and wonderful service. I will not give higher stars nor return to this business after I saw how the staff was treated. The older woman was openly berating 2 of the gentlemen who cleared the tables, they were nonstop cleaning and trying to get things ready for the next group, literally slowly jogging around trying to work. The men looked exhausted and I really was disgusted by the treatment of their employees ESPECIALLY when they should be doing whatever they can to keep the hardworking people who work for them.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a pretty chill person. I'm very easygoing and friendly, and as someone who travels frequently, I have no problem meeting new people. During my business trip to Jacksonville, I thought I would try Daruma since it was a short walking distance from my hotel. The restaurant was busy, but I had no problems getting seated immediately. The group I sat with was very welcoming and our conversation was great. However, the server made a point of serving me last. At first, I didn't think anything of it, but as the service progressed it became very apparent that, as the only colored person in the group, she went out of her way to ignore me. While taking the food orders, she skipped me and took orders from the guy on my right, and then the left. She skipped me on a drink order and I had to speak up to get a beer. She served everyone else their salad and held mine to the last. She served everyone their soup, held mine, cleared everyone's salad dish which she put on the tray with my soup, then after collecting their dirty dishes, finally gave me my soup. During dinner service, she would ask everyone if they needed a drink refill and walked away without looking at me. I had to ask the manager for another drink. I have traveled all over the world and have never, ever been treated this way in a restaurant before. I hate to say it, but this is the first time I felt blatant racism like this. I felt degraded. It became so apparent that this server was intentionally ignoring me that the other people at the table noticed. In fact, the gentleman on my left went out of his way to point out to her that I needed something. My one star is based on this racist treatment I received. The food was ok, but for the cost, not worth it. The chef was great and did a good job.

Took my wife here for Valentine’s Day. The food taste great and the staff was very friendly. I wasn’t crazy about the music playing, it felt a little “club’ish” instead of a nice steakhouse. Also, when we go out for Japanese, we like to split our steak and rice hibachi instead of ordering two full meals. We do this so we can order more sushi and have more room to sample.I was quite disappointed that they charge $6.99 if you want to share. I asked if sharing and paying more meant there is more portion and the waitress said “no”. They charge the extra $6.99 just for bringing the extra plates. This does not make sense.

How can you charge full price on your hibachi takeout and not including soup?!!!?? Makes no sense. Hey we gonna charge you the exact same, and it cost us less in labor (no show) but you aren’t gonna get a soup with it like you do at dine in! horrible cheap food. Had zero flavor and didn’t even taste like it was salted and pepper. Steak was just steak. No Sauce no flavor. Noodle where just noodle. Lol like no taste of stir fry just plain noodle omg don’t go here

Not the cleanest place but the chef was amazing. Our waitress was super sweet and considerate on my boys... we will be back for sure.

First time here and will be returning in the near future! The staff were wonderful and pleasant, the chef was funny and entertaining and the food was delicious.. We ordered steak/chicken and steak/shrimp/scallop.. yummy! ?
